The waterfront and mangroves are beautiful. The staff is friendly, but clearly not excited to be there. The hotel is neighbors with a nightclub that has a bass line that can move furniture, and does until all hours of the night. Reception is in the middle of a bunch of room entrances and is constantly noisy and apparently the meeting place for all groups of all sizes, at all hours of the day. The place is noisy and not relaxing at all.

For the price, I was expecting a lot more. The rooms were clean and nice however nothing special. My room lock didn’t work which I would’ve thought would be fixed prior to guests. The restaurant location is great overlooking the water however the food was just ok. They had no beef available and my lobster was overcooked. Bikes were available which was great. Overall, not worth the price.

Fabulous!
Excellent service! Beautiful location...right on the water with a lovely deck and restaurant just a short walk to other restaurants and shops and easy to get a taxi anywhere else. Make sure to have the staff schedule your taxi to the airport - you can have the driver accompany you on the ferry and bus and help with your bags all the way to the airport - definitely worth it!

The Best Front Desk Staff
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the staff was over the top in excellence, especially the Front Desk. I know that Hotels.com offers photos of rooms for easy selecting; but the one I chose was a bit misleading and so I was only slightly disappointed in the view that we got versus what was shown on the site. After a large party left, we were able to upgrade to the suite with the panoramic picture window of the bay which was exceptional. Thanks to the hotel’s front desk, they arranged for the upgrade and actually moved our luggage in for us once the room was ready. We came back from our adventures that day to an incredible room. The restaurant is also fantastic with its delicious food and incredibly friendly staff. Needless to say, the room’s bed, view, temperature, quietness and water pressure were perfect. The hotel offers a convenient snack shop with free filtered water. And the wildlife watching is not to be dismissed with its population of iguanas, seals and crabs. The hotel is also within walking distance to everything in town. Obviously, I would recommend staying here, it was absolutely amazing.

Good place but poor value
First of all the staff, particularly the lady that checked us in and is probably the owner was amazing!!! The restaurant attached was very good. Octopus and Gin and Tonic were top notch. The reason this is a 4 not 5 is value. I paid $338/night for a balcony room and a balcony room was exactly what I got…However, this was not a $338 room, the property is not a $338 property. The property is sparse and though the restaurant is nice it is not part of the property therefore the review. I would say this is a $250/night room and property. No tub, no pool and the water front is again the restaurant not the hotel. By no means bad. If they charged $250 it would be 5/5

The property was in a great spot. Lots of wild life right there at your feet. Very unique, makes you feel like your in a tree house! We reserved a room with a balcony and it did not have one; we still got the ocean view though. Restaurant had great food and service was exceptional.

Upgraded to Sister hotel Angermeyer Waterfront.
We were upgraded to the Sister hotel the Angermeyer Waterfront Hotel, which was fabulous. The Staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Breakfast was lovely served on the terrace overlooking the water with various fish swimming by. We found it to be very clean, and spacious, and easy to get to from the town by a short journey by water taxi. We would stay again.

We stayed here for 11 days and loved the hotel. I can't speak about the other rooms (they all seemed to have unique layouts) but ours, the Darwin, was fantastic. We were on the third floor water side with wrap around views of the ocean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was very good and reasonably priced (free cooked to order breakfast was great). The location was perfect for us...everything in town was within easy walking distance. There was even a COVID testing location just a short walk away which worked out great for our return trip. Our first night there at the hotel we saw most of the wildlife we came to the islands for (sea lions, sting rays, sharks, blue footed boobie, iguanas, pelicans, etc)...all while having dinner in the their open air restaurant! We didn't use the bikes but it was nice knowing they were there if needed. Tortuga Bay entrance is about 1.5 miles away and was worth walking to every morning. The room had over 80 channels, all Spanish, but a nice selection of sports, news and movies. Free coffee and tea in the lobby was nice in the morning. Tons of gift shops nearby and across the street was a shop that makes fantastic handmade chocolates. wifi is slow but we expected that...our phones (T-Mobile) worked very well. Overall would highly recommend the property...we felt like we should have been charged much more for the quality of room we were in.

We had the ocean-front room above the restaurant--which was delightful! We were hypnotized by the abundant ocean-life from the marine iguanas & sea lions to the surprise Galapagos shark we saw come out of the water, up onto the rocks hunting for sea lions! The rooms are all themed and whimsical decorations. I can't wait to visit again!

Edge of the harbor- exc. location.
Spectacular location at the edge of the harbor, really close to the Darwin tortoise center, easy walk to town, and set in a mangrove lagoon. Restaurant and breakfast- 1st rate. The bath was rejuvenated and great. Great towels. The room needs work - lumpy mattress, rusty and old fixtures, and windows need repair and trim work. But a great concept, view, and there were 2 sea lions on the benches outside my room.

We liked very much the location on the water and the mangroves. For a variety of reasons, we did not get the room that we had reserved and that was upsetting. The free bicycle use and the wonderful breakfast made up for this.

This hotel is located on the edge of town, close to everything, yet also peaceful and quiet. The hotel is beautiful and fits well with the natural environment. The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are clean and well cared for. My favorite part was the sea lion colony that sleeps on the deck and surrounding pier and the sunbathing marine iguanas. There’s no better way to wake up in the Galapagos than surrounded by wildlife!

Frustrating Customer Service
We didn’t even get to stay at this property, we had emergency circumstances and asked to cancel several times and have supporting documents. They wouldn’t respond or help in the situation, even to allow credits at a later time. On top of that they wouldn’t even mark as cancelled or no showed, which seems strange, and it is necessary for documentation now that we have to try through our insurance. I was very much looking forward to this hotel and stay and wanted to stay in the future when we are able to rebook, but most likely not now, we will choose a different property with better customer service.

Being at the hotel was wonderful experience....breakfast was very good compared to other hotels in the area. The opportunity of looking at the coast, with sea lions, red crabs and iguanas in their natural safe habitat was unforgettable. My son was amazed with. The room was very comfortable and the spa service perfect. On top of that the restaurant experience for lunch or dinner was very good...I’m in love with Galapagos and already planning my next visit.

What can I say? I loved that my first experience in the Galapagos was at this hotel waking up to not only the lovely view, but sea lions within 5 feet of our room. The view is great, the staff was very helpful in navigating the island which isn't that big, the hotel has great food. Lots to see and do and all within walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great Location & Experience
The hotel was unique with an amazing location and sea lions and lizards and crabs right outside the room. The staff was overly nice and attentive. The booking on hotels.com is a bit deceptive - we booked a suite but what they pictured and what we got was a not the same. However still nice ocean view. Just confirm what you are getting. Would still recommend staying here
