Its a mix. The room was fantastic. The front desk great. The bartender scary. The toilet didnt flush in 3 days. Water was too cold to take a shower one day

Loved our room and thought we had gotten an upgraded and later learned that ll rooms have a fireplace. Great location- steps away from the cemetery, Santo Thomas Church and of course the market. It is a colonial style (older hotel). The linens and towels were of nice quality.

A unique experience
A unique Inn with lots of history. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rooms were historic and the fireplace was very welcome for cold nights.

Beautiful spot to stay. Great location to markets and cemetery up the road. Fluffy pancakes for breakfast highly recommended. Staff were lovely and attentive.

Market adjacent!
This hotel is very low on the frills but makes up for it with rustic features and Hugh-quality service. The hotel is also a museum and a bird sanctuary. Some of the birds talk- trying saying “Hola” to them. Tomas was great. He was our room attendant and waiter. The reception staff was also very welcoming. This hotel was great for exploring the huge Sunday market. We dropped our bags and found ourselves right on the edge of the market. The food in the restaurant was a little cold- we had the soup and pasta. That was the only not-so-good point.

A charming hotel situated just feet from the heart of the market. Location can't be beat. The fireplace in the bedroom was a delight and warmed our room right up during chilly February evenings.

Love the stay here with great staff! Excellent, old structures with gorgeous courtyards and nice touches in the rooms. Heat is by fireplace, but they will set it all for you and it works nicely. Solid breakfast, and you can't beat the location. (It is tricky to drive to though, as the market takes up many roads around it--otherwise really great spot for exploring.)

First visitors during pandemic - excellent service
Occupying three rooms, we were the first group to stay at this hotel since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. After being closed for eight months, the rooms had a slightly stale smell to them, and the wifi had been disconnected from the rooms to save money (no one was using it). So, while there were some minor things one might complain about, I have VERY HIGH PRAISE for the attention and service that was substituted. The main office stayed open later-than-normal hours to allow us to use the wifi in the office, and the manager used his personal phone to make a personal wifi hotspot for us when we were in the dining room. We were the only guests in the hotel, and the only ones to use the dining room. It felt like a personal mansion, and we were waited on and served impeccably. Kudos to the staff and management at Hotel Mayan Inn for warmly welcoming us during these difficult times!

Stunning old hotel full of character. Beautiful antiques. Each room had its own butler who delivered drinks from the bar and lit the fire when it got cold. Do not expect modern amenities. Wifi only available in central courtyard. Hot water takes a long time to come in. Street side rooms can be noisy but overall a wonderful experience!

Amazing hotel, terrible beds.
It's a great hotel with great service and staff and really impressive religious artifacts everywhere, in the hallways, dining halls, inside the rooms! It is extremely old, which makes it actually cute. All of that can be kept and will give the hotel its charm and uniqueness. The only complaint: worst, tiniest, hardest, bed ever!

Better than a hotel room!
The stay was great!!! The room is antique but very spacious and clean, does not feel like a hotel room. You have a person who is always making sure you are good with everything, our guy was Tomas and he went out of his way to make sure we were always comfortable! If you have a car, there is a private parking which makes you feel good to leave your car overnight. Everything you need is also around there, specially the market. Only downside is getting there by car can be a hassle because of the narrow streets. Overall, I would love staying here again.
