Occupying three rooms, we were the first group to stay at this hotel since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. After being closed for eight months, the rooms had a slightly stale smell to them, and the wifi had been disconnected from the rooms to save money (no one was using it). So, while there were some minor things one might complain about, I have VERY HIGH PRAISE for the attention and service that was substituted.
The main office stayed open later-than-normal hours to allow us to use the wifi in the office, and the manager used his personal phone to make a personal wifi hotspot for us when we were in the dining room.
We were the only guests in the hotel, and the only ones to use the dining room. It felt like a personal mansion, and we were waited on and served impeccably.
Kudos to the staff and management at Hotel Mayan Inn for warmly welcoming us during these difficult times!
