Seen better days

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Pros: The front desk clerk was nice
Cons: New beds, bathroom door configuration, carpets replaced or cleaned.
This hotel has seen better days. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the bathroom set up was very awkward. The room was not that clean. I stayed Monday night and was intending to come back Wednesday after a night in Truth or Consequences. The very old motel we stayed at in T or C was better than the Baymont. I changed hotels. There are 3 other chain hotels in the immediate vicinity, the 2 others I have stayed at were much better.

Good value. A little hard to get in and out of with traffic lanes awkward.

Overpriced hotel away from downtown Santa Fe

Posted Jan 3, 2017
Pros: The owners are a friendly young couple. The breakfast is of very good quality.
Stayed here for 2 nights - paid $102.50 (with taxes) per night. It is located about 6 miles (20min drive because of speed limits) south of downtown Santa Fe. This is a pet friendly hotel. The manager specifically told us that they charge $25 per night for pets. We booked a double queen room that had pet hair everywhere on one of the beds... it was on the floor carpet between the two beds, on the dark blue covering sheets! It was terrible. Worst thing is - i found it late in the night. By then We had unpacked and there was no way to wake up my 3 month old and move to another room. The AC/Heater was terrible. It was not a digital one in which you can fix the temperature. Instead it had two dials: one which you keep the fan speed at Low or High, the other one you actually change the temperature from Red to Blue . Problem is ... There was no way to fix the fan temperature. The fan speed completely overran the temperature. For two consecutive nights, I had to keep waking up every 2 hours turning the heater on or off because the room was either too hot when the heater was left on or it became cold when switched off. Terrible experience!

Good location close to several restaurants and near the freeway. Otherwise nothing fancy about this place.

I thought the wifi was great. Usually in hotels, I have a hard time getting a good wifi signal, so that was a treat.
