Just Not a Good Four Seasons experience
I’ve stayed at 18 different Four Seasons properties around the world. This one is just not worthy of the Four Seasons name. I don’t even know how to explain it - maybe it was just because we came in January, and maybe that’s a rotten time to come. Starting with an unbelievably foul methane smell right at the front desk, to agonizingly slow service in the bar, to no-show services that were offered,…….it was just a not-good experience. Even great hotels get it wrong sometimes, so I’m just going to assume this was one of those times. It seemed like it just wasn’t meant to be. We won’t be back, and we suggest if you are going, do it some other time than January. Just bein’ honest.

Come on Four Seasons, get with it...
Everything and everyone was excellent. But for environment conscientious guests it was a disappointment that they did not give the opportunity to let the guests decide to reuse towels and bed linens, there was no recycle waste basket in the room and in the restaurant and bar they are still using plastic straws...

Oh my. This should not be a Four Seasons branded property at all. Nearly empty with guests, and after seeing their outdated, grubby pool area and other amenity areas, we checked out within the hour and moved to another hotel (with thanks to the Four Season general manager who facilitated this at my request). We will try this "resort" again after they complete a promised (long-overdue) renovation later in 2023.

The hotel was below our expectations for a Four Season property. Well below. We arrived to find out that there was no food service after 10:30 PM, including room service. The following morning we ordered breakfast, but the entire order was wrong. To the managers credit he comped the breakfast. That night again we ordered food, after we ate went to bed, the next morning ants were all over the plates in our room. The entire hotel service was slow, poorly trained for Four Seasons standards. There were a ton of little things that just added up and up, like several times we went in and out there was no door opening, the staff was on the phone. There was only one food option on the property, bar food, this was the same menu for the bar, the restaurant and room service. The bright spot was the manager Roberto, who gave us a credit upon leaving and listened to our experience. We will certainly not return and like all our experiences we will share how poor it was with friends and family. The Four Seasons can do better at this property.

The property is in the mountains outside Santa Fe. They have a shuttle to take you into town so you don’t have to drive or try to park. Everyone of the staff was friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Almost excellent
This is a 5 star resort except: 1. The paper products in the bathroom, although eco-friendly, were unacceptable. 2. The size of the soap at the sink was unacceptable small. 3. All the pumps on the bottles in the shower did not function well. 4. There was an obvious bulb over the bathroom sink that was burned out and never changed during our stay.

Couldn’t get transportation easily via Uber. Front desk was unable to find a car to ABQ. It’s a nice property but the details seem to fall short of a Four Seasons.

The property was a bit removed from town, but that was part of the charm. It was beautifully situated in the hills of Santa Fe. Very peaceful and the scenery was stunning. Loved our casita. It was well appointed and spacious. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces were such a nice surprise! The bathrooms were huge and heated floors were a thoughtful touch. We hiked the trail on property one day (highly recommend). We tried to get to the spa, but they were booked. Planning a return trip for a girls’ weekend and will be sure to book ahead next time! We ate several meals at the restaurant and the food was excellent. The only issue was the room key cards are very sensitive and demagnetized easily. We had to call the front desk and have them send new cards. To their credit, we had a new key in minutes! I’m sure it’s as frustrating to the staff as it is to guests. Can’t recommend this property highly enough. Will definitely be back!

For the cost of the Four Seasons and being a five star hotel, I expected more. The staff was excellent, rooms were well appointed and clean, but the overall quality of our room was not on par with what we've experienced at other five star hotels. For example, the window screen in our bathroom was totally bent out of shape, the door to the toilet was falling apart, and there was just no privacy between units. We could hear everything our neighbors were doing and the casitas are very close together as well (which you really notice when air conditioners kick on while you're trying to have a quiet afternoon on your patio). The restaurant was hit or miss, we ate there or had room service for most meals during our stay. The steak for two was phenomenal but the prime rib dinner was just weird - we each ordered it and it was totally inconsistent in that one had the taste and texture of a NY strip and the other was more like pot roast than prime rib. All in all, if their room rates aren't a big deal to you then you'll probably have a nice stay. If you're splurging on your room and are looking to get the most for your money, you might be better off looking at other hotels.

This place is simply enchanting! By far the best resort I've had the pleasure to stay at in the states! All the staff were fantasic and very accommodating. From the time I booked the service began. I received a call from Roberto within hours asking if I was celebrating a special occasion or would like anything ready for me when I get there. When I checked in with Joseph he explained all the activities we could sign up for and registered us. PRO TIP: If you are an NM Resident the resort offers a residency rate. It was about $150 less than (on my visit) only plus a $70 breakfast credit, 15% off all food and drink including alcohol and 25% off spa services and NO resort fee. I made the mistake of booking through a 3rd party site for the first night. Don't make the same mistake ;). When we walked into our room there was a charcuterie board and a thank you card. The "fire butler" was there preparing our fire. We stayed in a View casita and it was beyond expectations. The restaurant Terra is phenomenal! Please see the photos of the outstanding fare. It was exquisite and perfectly executed. Catalina assisted us a couple of times and she did a fantastic job! PRO TIP: If they offer a mixology class register! The drinks were amazing and its no cost! The spa was beautiful! We did not get any services this trip but did take advantage of the complimentary soaks with our stay. I could go on and on but I'll finish up by saying you should go experience for yourself.

Perfect romantic getaway
Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado was fabulous! We really enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the sunset with a cocktail. The service was excellent and loved the free shuttle downtown. Especially during these COVID times, the Four Seasons was the best choice. Rooms are spread out, there is plenty of space, very clean and staff wearing masks at all times.

The Four Seasons was fantastic! Excellent cleanliness and social distancing procedures. Room was spacious with a lovey patio. The shuttle to town was super convenient to avoid having to park downtown. Very close to excellent hiking and mountain biking. Finally, the staff was very friendly and top level of service.

Check in was fine but I had to wait several minutes. Because there was only one person checking guests in. That one guy spent time explaining the facilities to the people ahead of me. When another check in person finally came, she couldn’t get into the system. Kinda ludicrous for a Four Seasons hotel.
