Nice hotel close to beach

Very nice hotel. A few blocks from the beach

Nice hotel. Few blocks from the beach but they had a free shuttle service to bring you back and forth. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was included and very fresh.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. The room was very clean and the room serive was highly responsive. The room was in a luxury standard and it is accessible to beach and stores.

The hotel is clean. The staff is nice. The beach isn't too far away, & they have a shuttle-car available (fcfs). Breakfast isn't great...actually, it wasn't even good. It costs extra to park there ($25 per vehicle). Don't eat or drink anything already in the room or it'll cost you an arm & a leg (a can of soda is $3, which is a ridiculous up-charge)! There is a Walgreens very close though, so getting your own drinks/snacks is easy.

Great hotel room and hotel location

Great hotel room, with nice in room amenities as well hotel amenities (bikes, neighborhood car service). All at a reasonable price!

Close to UCLA Santa Monica

Needed a hotel close to UCLA Santa Monica hospital and the Ambrose fit the bill. We checked in late but not an issue. Breakfast was complimentary. Parking is an additional fee but I could keep the car here the entire day instead of paying for valet and public parking. Also the hotel offered a courtesy shuttle that can transfer guests between the hotel and hospital.

The room was next to the elevator and was the shape of a triangle, so noisy and a little weird watching tv at an angle. Bed wasn't comfortable, felt like I was at a Motel 6, not a boutique hotel.

A personal hotel in the heart of a large city

Pros: Most everything. The friendliness of the guests
Cons: Unfortunately, the balcony experience was marred by bird droppings which were not cleaned.
Location: Just a pleasant neighbourhood experience.
We arrived not knowing anything at all about the hotel except for a recommendation by a friend. It was like an oasis in a gentrified desert. Warmly greeted, quickly provided with a hot cup of coffee while awaiting our room, papers provided and a country setting, we were lulled into a relaxed mood. The daily continental breakfast, the ease of parking, the friendliness of staff mage this a pleasant experience. We also took note of the ongoing maintenance work. All in all, what a pleasant change from the chain hotel experience.

Eager to help staff

Pros: See above
Cons: I would like to have had eggs for breakfast. Maybe hard boiled would suit the style of buffet they had. Everything else at buffet was excellent.
Location: I was visiting friends, not sight seeing.
Staff made you feel special. No matter what you asked seemed very important to them. No ice machines, but staff got you ice immediately. Having car service to nearby places was extremely important to me.
