Staff was excellent; wonderful homemade breakfast each morning and the surrounding was beautiful.

Thank you. We are a country retreat and like to use colorful quilts on the bed and decorate each room individually. We update our décor constantly, but we definitely d not have the generic, gray/brown/white look as found in larger hotels.

Solvang Spot

Pros: staff, location, and some special touches
Location: Solvang is great - a real treat. Don't miss the Hans Christian Anderson museum
Lovely location and friendly staff. We enjoyed the outdoor gazebo and WIFI access out of the patio! Movie night was really great. Breakfast was in a cozy/comfortable room and delicious.

Beautiful, comfortable room with indoor jacuzzi. Lovely breakfast. Close to lots of things to do.

Very quaint and quiet.

Pros: a great get away
Cons: nothing
Location: Chumash only 1.2 miles away. Perfect for anything you want to do, in Solvang or Buellton.
We loved it and will be back again for 2 nights next time. Very restful and quaint. I sent pictures to my daughter and she said she would try it when she is in the area.

The only negative thing I have to say is that the bathroom didn't have a shower matt. We had to use a hand towel. Also, in the room there was no tea to make. Just coffee. When I went to the area where breakfast was being served, the tea they had was so so. The hot water was actually warm. The bananas were super green. They ran out of the hot breakfast before 10am. It was a good thing we weren't that hungry. Upon check out, no one was at the front desk. I waited for them to return. I ended up leaving the key with a note. Despite these issues, I will stay here again. The room was clean and comfortable. The surroundings of the property was very pretty. Location was great

We appreciate all of our guests comments and take them seriously. Each room has a bath mat in the bathroom cabinet. We serve 6 different kind of teas in the breakfast room and we have keep hot water in a carafe, but also have a hot water pot right there. We are a small inn and our innkeepers not only work the front desk, they check the grounds, talk to guests outside, get things for guests, such as extra towels, occasionally they are out in the garden to cut some flowers and check on housekeeping, thus when they are not at the desk they are always nearby. We take care of all paperwork at check in time, so our check out procedure is very simple, guests just leave the key in the room or at the desk. Of course it is nice when we get a chance to say goodbye personally. I apologize that the store did not have fully ripe bananas that day and that we ran out of the dish of the day, however, our complimentary breakfast buffet always has boiled eggs available, housemade granola, yogurt, breads, fruit, something sweet, so no one ever has to go hungry. We encourage guests to let us know if there is anything they need in their room, by simply dialing 0 on their room phone.

Solvang trip

Nice and clean picturesque environment. Beautiful central court yard for BBQ and relaxation away from the crowds. Only a couple of minutes drive from downtown Solvang. I will definitely stay here again. Friendly atmosphere and friendly staff.

Needs room remodel. Charming location but rooms are not decorated well. A few small touches would make a big difference. Lighting was terrible. Bright fluorescent bulbs everywhere. Ruined the ambiance. Overall a nice pleasant location. Friendly staff.

Thank you for your comments. We would love to know what small touches would have been nice, as we always look to improve. Not liking the lights either, working on that, as we are required to have energy saving lights in all rooms and public areas. We update our rooms on a regular basis and all of our rooms are decorated differently unlike larger city hotels that go for more of a generic, modern look. We hope to represent charming Solvang and our quiet wine country retreat.

My family and I love this place. However, the conditions such as fan in the kitchen does not work and internet was not good; We checked in late so the room door was opened and many bugs got in. Environment is wonderful in the morning. In brief, it's nice place to get away with countryside feeling. We will come back.

Thank you for your comments, much appreciated. Not sure why the door would be open, that is definitely not standard procedure. I sincerely apologize for any shortcomings. Our internet is fast and works perfectly about 98% of the time, once in a while the service slows down a bit, but since we are in the country it is a provider issue.
