Nasty experience

Posted Sep 11, 2017 on Hotels
Undoubtedly the worst hotel experience of my life. arrived at a non descript location that looked like an office block. I rang the night bell and had a door unlocked and made my way up to the second floor to be greeted by an elderly woman in a nightgown who spoke only Spanish. I speak no Spanish. There was no one else to talk to. She demanded I pay €50 and could not understand I paid online thru this site. She demanded to keep my passport. She was angry and demanded I leave when I refused. I said she could take a copy but not keep it. I have no problem dea what she was saying though I recognised "police". I could not persuade her that I booked online and already paid by credit card. She physically tried to kick me out of the room attempting to take my bag out. I tried to explain using a translation site on my iPad but she demanded the money and my passport. I begged her to find someone to speak with but she was very hostile and said there was no one. An hour later. Exhausted having arrived from bilboa and just needing to sleep I gave her €50 to let me stay. This episode took 2 hours. All happened in the room. I''m so angry it''s not funny. the experience has ruined my time in Santander. This hotel has no business being on this site. I. Would not even call it a hotel. She was rude and nasty and I'm completely distraught at being treated like a criminal. I got no sleep.

Dear Mona Thank you for your comment, we are very sorry that you did not meet your expectations. Indeed the person who attended it does not know English. Fatima speaks only Spanish, French and Portuguese, and Arabic is her mother tongue. She is not the person who takes care of the reception, its task is the cleaning and ironing of the bed linen. We are very sorry that even though you arrive after midnight (when your reservation clearly specifies that the reception hours are from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm), it would not seem appropriate for a person with Muslim clothing and not in a nightgown as you thought to see and of course not an old lady (it is not our policy to make old people work) I would welcome you and not leave you without a room at midnight Said this, of course upon arriving, leave the passport to take the data and a deposit for your stay, Fatima asked her as well as she could, because you only speak English and she does not. The next morning he was answered in English, the deposit was returned and apologies for the inconvenience, reminding him that his printed reservation had clearly reflected the reception schedule.

Hotel close bus station

Posted Jul 2, 2017
Pros: Localization
Cons: Attention and Installations
Location: Close the bus station
uncomfortable installations, old building, poor illuminations, small room, building is shared with other business.

Hot and noisy

Posted Jul 27, 2016 on Hotels
The room was hot with no fan or air con. When you open the windows you got the noise of people talking in the street below.

Dear John True, our small property has no air conditioning, as you could see in the description that Hotels.com offers before making your reservation. If you wanted air conditioning, maybe you must make a reservation at a hotel, of course with more category and higher price Kind regards

A small, but very cozy place

Posted Apr 22, 2016 on Hotels
Stayed in Cabo Mayor for one night. The room was very good, had good internet, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, and a very modern bath. The location is very hand, just across the street from the train and bus stations. The stuff was very friendly and helpful (not sure if they speak much English though, used my basic Spanish). The checkout is quite late 12pm, plus they were happy for me to leave my luggage in the hotel, as my flight was not until 10 pm. I would highly recommend the place.

Great little gem in the centre of town

Posted Oct 19, 2015 on Hotels
A great hotel right in the centre of town right across from the bus and train station. It's on the second floor of a building and it has 6 rooms. The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly. If your a smoker you have to go out to smoke everytime but most hotels are like that now in Spain. We couldn't fault it.
