We wanted to love it, but it isn't the idyllic paradise it claims.
The welcome was superb, a friendly lady gave us an excellent tour of the original property with some historical storytelling and a lot of smiles. The breakfast was small, but of a very high & tasty quality, served in a gorgeous room full of happy sun and character.
Sadly - We were given a room unlike those in the pictures with a gross rotten sprung mattress as old as the house, it was nothing like the pictures - We were also woken up on our second day by 2 staff members fighting, screaming and smashing furniture, I had to throw on clothes, dash out and step in between them them to stop the onslaught.
No refund or apology was offered by the hotel for ruining our romanitic weekend with violence, no apology from either staff member either.
Stunning building and a few really lovely staff on the team - But poorly managed.
