The room was spacious and clean, bathroom without window or fan, but it was clean. In general hotel was ok but outdated, in need of some maintenance.

Location is perfect as you can walk into the village in 2 minutes. For further travel the high way is just around the corner and Amsterdam or Schiphol is a 20 minute ride. Beautiful nature and ancient land houses and castle are close by.. Check in is fast and easy and a cosy bar just next to the reception.

The staff at the hotel were very nice and easy parking. Our room was on the first floor and with the windows open you could hear everyone on the patio and walking on the street. Close to downtown area but nothing much going around in town. Also close walking distance to windmill. Not a bad place to stop for a night

Convenient to town
This hotel proved to be affordable and comfortable. It is an easy walk into the town center for a variety of dining choices.

Hometown Holland
The hotel owners are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome.. An authentic Holland experience, with a large windmill, a couple blocks away, and a cow pasture across the street. Train station is about a 10-15 min walk. Rooms are dated, but nice. cleanliness was good. It's close to Haarlem, which is a nice city to visit. To get around, it's best to have a car. If you want to go to Amsterdam, park at one of the P&R's and take a tram.

Mis-Representation
The Ad on Expedia suggested, it was a hotel room. It was in fact an apartment 15 km away from the main city limit. No restaurant or shop around. The apartment had old furniture, cushions without covers or beds without white sheets on them. The hotel keeper handed a pair of old towels in a plastic bag for my overnight stay. Definitely will not recommend, as it was mis-represented, untrustworthy. To Hotel Owner: The people are nice/ However, when you run a business, you need to be honest first and then professional about it. Don't post hotel photo, if you are renting an apartment. Please the correct pictures of real apartment. If people still want it, they will book it and will book it. Owner offered a bottle of beer to make up for the mis-representation. This was in good faith, but can not make up for the poor experience I had.

Dear Sir, We would like to appologize to the late respond. We tried to contact the manager of the area of Hotels.com and Expedia.com ,but until today they did not returned our numerous calls. We have tried to contact them and clear up the problem with the not sufficient information about the location of the appartment given on the site about the apartment. We have given all the neccessary detalis about the location, but we do not see what information is given to the guests from Hotels.com We also have given fotos of the apartment and we have required the booking site to update all the information. We can not do that on their behalf, because we do not have access to do so. We are really sorry about your disatisfaction and on behalf of the management of the hotel, we would like to offer you a free night stay at the hotel, including a breakfast buffet. We are sorry, that we can not turned back that. Hotel with character
Stayed here for one night, friendly and excellent service. We had a 4 person room, which was a double bed and 2 singles. Beds were fine. It's very colourful and small. Steps to our room were very steep. Normal for there, takes a little getting used to if you're from north america. As my daughter said "it has a lot of character". Close to bars/restaurants.

Hotel Out of Downtown Amsterdam
Trudy and Vera were genuine friendly and helpful staff; too bad other properties couldn't clone them. Breakfast was delicious. A charming small hotel with a bucolic view of cows and sheep across the road. It was delightful and unpretentious.

Comfortable small stylish hotel.
The staff were very nice and knowledgeable. The lady who checked us in was willing to help with anything. We stayed 4 nights and further questions were answered about the area and services. They were very easy going about requests and even with an early morning checkout. Taking the train to Amsterdam is fairly quick and the hotel is on a bus route that goes to the station. We did the 5km walk to central Haarlem one day and it was very nice.

Old furniture was not in my mind
Not really an option I would recommend to anyone, you pay too much and receive to little in exchange. Old broken furniture is not anybody style and they should spend some money at least to get comfortable beds and pillows.

Hotel was very good, staff were very helpful
Although the owner forgot to add two extra beds to our room and we were very late checking in, the staff did everything they could to accommodate and were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. During our stay I could not make any complaints about the hotel, the rooms are clean and tidy, breakfast was good and as I say the staff were fantastic.

Helpful receptionist and clean room. The hotel is located about 40 mins out of Amsterdam via bus and train but this suited us (4) for one night as accomm in Amsterdam was over 100 euros per person over the Easter break.

Near to lovely park and handy for the ferry.
Trudy was delightful, friendly and very helpful. Didn't stay very long but this budget hotel was fair and good. Short walk into town for all necessities, good pubs a Dutch grill. Quite busy street so try and get a room at the rear.

Too far out of Haarlem
When we arrived at 12.10, for our noon check in the doors were locked, the hotel was empty and there was not a person in site. We had a look all around, and was just looking for the hotel number to ring when finally the cleaner let us in. We had requested quadruple room but were allocated 2 rooms instead. Then we were put on the phone to speak with someone in English and then we did get our quadruple room as requested. The next day we had breakfast. Lovely fresh bread but otherwise very basic. Served in a dark, gloomy dining/ bar area with no natural light. The rooms were crampt and basic. The corridors were piled high with folded beds, boxes of glasses and the corner of the restaurant was a storage area. There were a lot of furniture cluttering communal areas. The hotel is near a busy junction and there was a lot of loud traffic noise despite the double glazed windows being shut!!! Don't know how people would manage with windows open in earlier heat wave!! It was located a long bus ride from the centre of Haarlem and it was a fair walk to the nearest bus stops. On a positive note it was cheap and the receptionist we met was very pleasant and helpful sharing her local knowledge.

Quaint, quiet hotel just outside Amsterdam
The hotel is small (just a handful of rooms) and the decor is somewhat eclectic, but the beds were comfortable and the room was an adequate size. There were lots of wonderful surprises like a full tub and towel warmer in the bathroom, and a comfy loveseat in the room. The hotel was very clean, but not to the point where it smelled of industrial disinfectants as some hotels do. The staff was very warm and eager to meet any of our needs. They all spoke English very well. The surrounding town of Santpoort-Noord is absolutely lovely, with little pastures of sheep and an old windmill right in town. There are plenty of little shops and restaurants to visit, as well as a larger grocery store in the commercial part of town. Santpoort-Noord is well-connected to Haarlem, Amsterdam, and Amsterdam Schiphol airport by train as well as bus. Unfortunately, there are not many taxis in Santpoort-Noord, so it may be necessary to walk to the hotel from the train station (1.25 km) or the nearest bus stop (~.5km) unless you have made arrangements for a taxi in advance. I would definitely stay here again.

a good out-of-town alternative for Amsterdam
I think people are being unfair by making negative judgements about this hotel due to its distance to Amsterdam. This hotel doesn't advertise itself as a hotel in Amsterdam, it's in Santpoort-Nord as it is explicitly stated. As I did by staying here in the case of my visit to Amsterdam, this hotel can be definitely considered as an alternative choice when there are a few big events at the same time in Amsterdam and the hotels are almost all already booked there. It's a very nice hotel in a beautiful, silent neighbourhood. It has spacious and clean rooms. The personnel is very friendly and more than helpful. I'm very glad that I stayed here for my visit to two exhibitions in Amsterdam area. It takes half an hour to get to Amsterdam by train, but I never complained about that as I knew that it would be the case. I will definitely return if I visit Amsterdam for business again or for leisure even as well.

This is a cute little hotel in a small, quiet town, about a 20-30 minute drive from Amsterdam and near Haarlem. There are some nice restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as a grocery store and shops. The hotel is very home-like, and it's obvious the owners want to make people feel as much at home as possilble. They apologized for not giving me an upgrade when I arrived because I'm tall (!). The room was small, but not as small as some I've seen in other parts of the Netherlands, and there was a elevator which is nice if, like I do, you have to travel with a lot of luggage. They offer a bottle of wine in the room, a refrigerator, coffee, and some other nice little amentities. There was even a laptop in the room! I have my own so I didn't need it, but that was something I've never seen in any hotel in Europe (yes, I've seen it in Asia). The Internet access worked, was fast, and reliable. If you don't mind a bit far away from the city, this is a great place to stay. With a rental car, parking is free and it's easy to get to from the highway. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet and pleasant stay, who doesn't mind traveling to go to places of business or interest. Very good experience.

Hotel was in a good location to central Amsterdam - about 20 mins by train. The hotel itself is very out dated and smells strongly of cigarettes. Rooms are described as non-smoking but have clearly been smoked in for quite some time. The linen and towels were well worn and it's questionable how clean they were. The surrounding town is nice but I would not recommend this hotel. Definitely not 3 stars.

Niets is wat het lijkt...
De foto's op de site lijken door een makelaar te zijn gemaakt, waar je ook nooit de hoogspanningsmast in de achtertuin ziet. Alles is oud, versleten, smoezelig, bijzonder gehorig en kapot. Een zichtbaar geplaatst leeg toiletrolletje op het toilet in de badkamer, was blijkbaar geen aanleiding het wc-papier aan te vullen. Okay, de prijs voor een overnachting is laag en ook dan verwacht ik toch wat meer... Voor de entree, een grote groep Poolse arbeiders die bierdrinkend en stevig rokend zorgt dat je door een tabakswalm het hotel in- of uitgaat. In het hele gebouw hangt een muffe en verschraalde tabaksgeur. Het ontbijt heb ik maar overgeslagen. Dit was een ervaring van 'eens en nooit meer'.

Das Appatment war sehr schmutzig und der Garten nicht aufgeräumt. Die Einrichtung wie Badezimmer total veraltet. Keine Hantuchhalter usw. In der Microwelle lagen noch schimmelige Essensreste.

esta en la afueras de amsterdam, en Harlem, hay que usar la tarjeta que incluye region sino el transporte por viaje es bastante elevado, el baño tenia muy mal olor y contamina la habitacion, no incluye el desayuno y si lo pagas es sobre 12 EUROS PARA MI ES BASTANTE POR UN DESAYUNO.

Eins Voraus - ich hatte ein sauberes, zweckmäßiges Zimmer. Allerdings wurde dies als Deluxe Zimmer angeboten.Deluxe ist ja schon ein dehnbarer Begriff, in diesem Hotel bezeichnet er über Putz verlegte Strom und Heizungsleitungen bzw Rohre, für mein Verständnis sehr plüschige Bettwaren, kein zu öffnendes Fenster sondern nur eine zu einer allgemein zugänglichen Terrasse führende Glastür. Im Bad alte Fliesen, der Duschbereich am Boden zur Vermeidung evtl. Flutung durch ein rauhes, einfach gestrichenes Vierkantholz abgegrenzt. Dafür war der verlangte Preis schlichtweg ca 30 % zu hoch.
