Great Hotel with Amazing views!

Pros: Staff were very polite and helpful. The beds were very comfy and the hotel was in a good location, less than 10 minutes in a taxi to main area.
Cons: The price of food around the pool was very expensive.
Location: Great location, only 10 mins to La Rambla, the port and even the beach. 5 minute walk to shops to get supplies such as water etc.
Stayed for 5 nights, in September. Room was great and bed very comfy. We had a massive balcony and amazing views over the city and the port.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel excellent staff room was cold. Ordered T-Bone steak meat was fatty Potatoes was cold. We were sitting outside. The made up for it offered free desert and hot chocolate

Nice hotel but a little out of the way

The hotel is nice but there were a couple of points of dissapointment. We arrived at 11 and while we appreciate the hotel do not have to check us in until 3pm we were left waiting well past this. I eventually approached the desk at 4pm to be told '5 minutes' but we were not checked in until after 4:30. We were only on a 2 night stay so the frustration was a little amplified. The second frustration came when trying to book a taxi for dinner, the hotel is out the way a bit so there ar no passing taxi's to hail, reception have to call them. When we requested a taxi we were asked to sit in the lobby and told we were second in line. The staff let 3 groups get on cabs before we did which was a bit poor. While i can imagine some of the rooms have great views ours was dissapointng, mostly looking over the industrial bit of the port, i couldnt face trying to get a room change after waiting as long as we had... the room itself was great though, large and well kitted out. The pool area is nice as well. The hotel would be good for folk wanting to be a bit removed from the main hussle of the city.

Beautiful hotel, unbelievably courteous staff

Quick stay in Barcelona over three days. This particular hotel stood out as it had a more modern look as compared to the many others on offer. Absolutely stunning. Breathtaking views and 5 star service from all members of staff. Thank you to all that made our stay as pleasant as it was!

Hotel with serious mold problems.

Cons: Better hotel management and training of staff regarding absolute cleanliness and hygiene.
This hotel is very disappointing in terms of hotel maintenance, hygiene and cleanliness. Management of this hotel is poor, too bad in light of its nice location high up in the hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Black spots that looks to me as molds hang over the central foyer ceiling in front of the restaurant. When we point this out to hotel attendant she just shrugged her shoulder. Ditto to the Front Desk Reception. The room shower is full of black molds and smelled accordingly. Small black crawlers were in the shower wall. Over the course of one week my wife sustained bites on her face and leg with red painful induration. My wife and I are physicians; hence we understand the threat to ones health with molds and bugs. The hotel is stingy when it comes to soap. There were very small soap in the shower and dresser sink; that is it in a 5-Stars hotel. Room attendants do not speak English. Most 5-Stars hotels have coffee maker in the room. This one does not have one; we have to ask a water heater to make tea and instant coffee that one has to request for repeatedly. The restaurant where they charged 29 euros per person has forgettable food, a shame since Barcelona is a gastronomic destination. The hotel staff needs better training in hospitality if Miramar Hotel wants to survive; difficult enough because of its location away from Barcelona main action in the Ramblas and Catalunya Central areas. Given its relative isolated location, it takes a while to wait for a taxi;

Beautiful, relaxing hotel

Pros: The grounds are beautiful. The room was cool and clean. The indoor and outdoor pools are gorgeous. Tapas in the lobby were good.
Cons: Get rid of smoking on the terrace. Keep one pool open later. Shuttle to the port for cruises. Facial beds in spa.
Location: The location is great. It's removed from the chaos of the city but very close and accessible to the city center and waterfront. Take the gondola.
After a crazy week of 3 countries and 5 cities in 5 days it was such a respite to check into Hotel Miramar. The staff are attentive and very helpful. We checked into our room overlooking the pool. Views shown of the water are mostly hidden by trees during the summer. But it's still lovely with nice outdoor seating spaces and adjacent to the park. I went to the spa and had a fantastic massage. The facial was not as great but still relaxing. In the morning we took the gondola to the waterfront which was a great view of the city and way to get oriented. We had dinner at Forestier which was fine until the bugs started biting at dusk and someone started smoking right next to us. So we moved inside but I think the staff forgot we were there as it took over half an hour to get our desserts (ice cream and fruit). We were sad to leave the next day as I could have spent a week there and in beautiful Barcelona.

Beautiful hotel with outstanding views of barcelon

We had a magic time in the miramar hotel, what really made our stay was how we was treated by the hotel staff, they looked after us everyday, And made us feel very comfortable. I would recommend if you can afford it go for a premium room. we was lucky enough to experience that room for one night, which completed our hoilday! Because the view watching the sun go down is breathtaking. We would come back to this hotel again.! Definitely one of the best hotels in barcelona! Just one thing that did spoil it slightly around the pool area, was the loud awful pop unrealised chart music that plays. Doesnt make you feel very relaxed as it's quiet over powering and irrrating. We did ask staff a few times if they could play more beautiful relaxing chilll out music which they did once. If the staff as miramar read this comment. I would like to say, the pool area is a very relaxing area, It dint seem like anyone was enjoying the pop and commercial dance music that was playing out loud. And that if you played something more peaceful instrumental your more likely to get everyone enjoying it rather then a select few when playing loud commercial dance music. As it felt like we was staying at butlins hoilday's! For a classy hotel how you have presented it and with 5stars pool side music does Let it down to 3 stars. I hope you read our comments. We had to speak from truth of our experience. We still had fabulous time. Thank you.

Great location on the mountain, awesome views of the city. Hotel is A+. Breakfast buffet is good but very expensive!

Not what we expected

Booked a deluxe room six montha ago for our honeymoon. The deluxe room was located on the main floor with a balcony that we could not use as it had zero privacy and was pretty much shares with the hotel bar. Every night there seemed to be a party going on at the bar outside with loud musix thAt kept us up until 4:30 am. Phone in room did not work, ordered room service on first day, waited an hour and a half to then have to walk to front desk and find out they had forgot our order... Nothing special honeymoon.. not even a flower or anything Not worth the money or 5 stars.
