Pleasant getaway, close to golf course.

Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: The lovely grounds, nice pool, and clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was included.
Cons: The shuttle service and front desk service.
Location: Near the golf course, the Luhuitou Park. Further from beeches, restaurants and other facilities.
The Mingshen is a wonderful getaway hotel, close to the golf course, but a little remote from the beaches and shopping and dining areas. The hotel boasts an hourly shuttle to the beaches, but the shuttle was just a driver who they had to rustle up at the last minute. The return shuttles were non existent. However, the hotel itself has lovely grounds, a nice pool, clean comfortable rooms, and I would return.

Nice hotel but a bit out of town

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: The room, the breakfast buffet, the willingness by the staff to be helpful.
Cons: The shuttle bus to the city had a very limited schedule. It should go a bit more often or allow the guests to actually request a time.
Location: A bit out of town but only 3 RMB to take a city bus or the hotel shuttle is free. Golf is convenient. Most other excursions need to go to town.
Hotel is in great condition and the staff was friendly. Check-in was relatively quick even though we showed up with an extra person and needed a roll away added to our room. Not strong with English but we had a friend with us who spoke the language so no problem. There is a free shuttle to 3 different areas in the city, but the city buses were just a short walk away and it was easy to get into town. Breakfast buffet was quite good. The staff kept the dishes replenished as needed. Beautiful setting overlooking the pool and gardens. Our room had a view of the bay and the city lights which was stunning. The a/c did not work when we arrived but they began work on it immediately and had it repaired quickly.

Construction everywhere around hotel.Pounding day and night when piling during contruction of nearby

Posted Jan 16, 2011
We wanted a non smoking room,so they put us in the 4th floor which is supposed to be a non smoking floor, but people still smokes and the hallway is filled with cigerette smoke.People smokes in the Lobby,at the check-in counter,restaurants,rest-rooms,basically everywhere. We figured there is no point in complaining since the whole hotel is a smoking place. The hotel location is way out, down in the southern part of the pennisula and many cab drivers don't know how to get there. The area we were is called Luhuitou,in southern Sanya. There is no night live there,You have to take a cab to Dadonghai, but have difficulties finding a cab back.It will pobably take 3 to 5 years to fully develop the area there like Yalong Bay.The hotel itself is a 5 star hotel with very good service, but right now I won't recommend anyone due to the contructions and no nightlife there.
