Look What $30/Day Gets You!
The room was really large for a $30/day place! Compared to APAs in Tokyo and Osaka, the room is HUGE despite Sapporo being not as technological as the former two and that is a HUGE bonus! The people in Hokkaido are super generous and kind, which adds to the excellence of staff and their service 😊 I did bring a Switch to play docked as well. While there is room to put the console, gotta admit the TV isn't as quality as Tokyo and Osaka but that's not a dealbreaker. If you're looking for affordable, I recommend here. In their words, "[I'll] be back."

全館禁煙はいいのですが、外に灰皿もなく路上で吸えというのはいかがなもんかと思う。 No smoking space. Visitor must smoke on the road with own ashtray.

Hotel is too old and smelly but good location
Very old hotel there are leaks on the floor nobody bothered to substitute the carpet. Disgusting. Staff are pleasant. My room smelled like old. Had to open window. Shower small and poor too. Old place should be destroyed not rented over and over. Also on the weekends they are asking for way too much money. The location is decent, just 4 blocks from metro and some food.

Good treatment from the front desk and cleaning staff, only problem was that the AC control was only set to warm and the room would get very hot. Luckily our window would open to cool the room down.

Convenient Business Hotel
Very convenient to Hosuisusukino station exit 6. Literally a two minute walk. Quite area with a Lawsons right around the corner. Not many eating places near the hotel. It's a typical Japanese business hotel.

The location is really great. I mean it was like 3 to 4 min from the station. I was really impressed with the room and the service. I would definitely coming back.

Just like all APA hotels. It's at the south of Hosui-Susukino station, but it wouldn't take long to walk to the high streets at Susukino.

Fine one night stay
No complaints, I was here just a night. Very cold outside, but the heat worked great. This is an older property, so the carpet isn't the most pristine and there were some scuffs on the wall and furniture, but this don't matter at all. Room was spacious (I was alone but got a room with two beds) and had a mini-fridge. Location was convenient for the park (Nakayima?), and was about a 5-minute walk to the main downtown area. Staff was very friendly, and the room was great value.

South of Susukino
I guess that my previous review went into too much detail as it was rejected. Thus, I'll water it down to keep the PTB happy else my reviews will go somewhere that doesn't attempt to censor me. Hotel is standard business fair not wowing me or disappointing me in any particular area. Front desk staff was adequate in dealing with foreigners. Hotel facilities seemed well-kept but might be an older hotel as I had an old-fashioned key instead of a card in order to gain entry to the room. The closest subway station is on the Toho line and is about a 3-minute walk north of the hotel. Not the most convenient place but not the worst. It was about a 5-minute walk to the nearest tram stop. Bed was mildly firm and the pillows were of medium softness. Work station was adequate for my short-term needs. Elevator was a little slow but given the age of the hotel that might be as good as it gets. Overall, it met my needs and didn't break the bank so I would stay again if the area meshed with my plans.

Rain water got through the window somehow at some stage. This led to molds on the wall paper and carpet. There's a moldy smell in the room. Requested to change another room but was told that hotel was full, and that I had to use the air refresher spray instead. This is not addressing the root cause, is it?

Hotel is a short walk from Hosui-Susukino Station
APA Hotel is less than 200m south of subway Toho Line Hosui-Susukino Station Exit 6, as such this facilitates movement and ease access to various tourist spots in Sapporo City by subways, streetcars and JR rail. The hotel is on the south eastern edge of the Susukino area which abounds with night-life; bars, restaurants, shopping outlets, convenience stores,and people watching spots. We stayed 3 nights at the hotel. Despite the mess of used clothing, socks, travel brochures, etc, housing keeping did an excellent job to tidy up the room before we came back in the evening. We did not eat a single meal at the hotel as there are so many eateries, and Nijo Market is a walk away. The hotel counter staff speak limited English. To avoid misunderstanding on important matters we always follow up the over-counter conversations with written notes, so that more English-fluent staff would know our requests.

Up Your Service Level Please!
More English staff should be on duty, and the reception desk manned all the time instead of us having to ring a bell always for service. Our requests for connecting rooms or rooms next door and on non-smoking floors were not met and our teenage kids had to live a few rooms across the corridor . Staff could also be friendlier!

Love Sapporo. APA Susikino Ekiminami spoiled it!
Staff could have more welcoming, friendlier and helpful! Won't even lend a knife and lighter to celebrate my daughter's birthday but pointed us to buy these from 7-11!!! Hardly at reception and need to press the bell for service every time. And worse, cannot eve speak basic English...!! Even the Subway staff and Policemen speak better English and definitely more helpful! We had 2 rooms and spent total 10 room nights and I regret I made a booking at this hotel!!

Needed a place to stay the night for our flight the next day and this was fine. The room was fine, lobby was fine, the beds were comfortable, but the floor looked a bit dirty. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the main street.

Pleasant stay
Spent two nights at this hotel. It was a good base to explore Sapporo. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. I didn't eat breakfast there, or have much contact with staff. Interestingly there was a book on the desk that was highly nationalistic. It made for an interesting read during down time in the room.
