very close to all the things we wanted to see

Pros: The locxation to the town and all that it has to offer
Cons: You could put refrigerators and microwaves in the room.
Location: All the restaurants and alot of shops.
We like this location as we are close to all the things we like to see and do.We like going to the amish town.

Wonderful Surprise

Pros: Clean Rooms Staff Big Pool
Location: There is this really nice coffee shop in walking distance of the hotel.
The hotel was a last minute idea for my friend and I to check out Sarasota for the New Years' eve party. Because of the previous reviews I was little apprehensive about my stay, but because the room was in our budget I booked there. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by a wonderful staff and surprisingly a wonderful clean room. It was spacious and I was shocked that I was nearly deterred by previous reviews about this hotel. Because we had checked in earlier than our normal party time, we went and spent time at their pool and it is soo beautiful and the trees that surround the pool area make you feel like you are in a tropical paradise instead of a busy neighborhood. Also remember to checkout this bar they have on site as my friend and I had our New Year drinks there after the "Pineapple Drop" in Sarasota. Their My Tais (spelling?) are strong so pace yourself. On the whole it was too short of a stay as we had to be back to work Monday, but we will definitely be back on a longer weekend

Grand old Florida!!!

What an awesome stay. We checked out the other hotels in the area looking for that “old Florida” feel and this was clearly the only one that fit the bill. Room was comfortable and clean with super fast wifi - we were able to stream Netflix without a hitch. We were greeted warmly by the front desk and they tried to make us feel at home. Quick drive to both the airport and downtown. Breakfast could be a bit better. We will DEFINITELY stay here again.

The room was spacious, air conditioner worked well. Bed was hard. Shower had nice hot water. Tv very outdated. Breakfast was absolutely horrid, they didn't know how to make coffee, the items offered were flavorless. Wifi was also very horrible, the room we stayed in the wifi barely worked after about 45 minutes gave up on using it. Definitely wouldn't stay again.

Relaxing Weekend

Pros: The pool and the breakfast were great.
Cons: 0
Location: Location is excellent because it is near many local attractions like Siesta Key, Jungle Gardens, Walgreens, Historic and Cultural District.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. For example, I wanted two more pillows and they immediately gave me more pillows. The free breakfast has enough food to start you day! I loved the pool area because it was just Florida beautiful and had a old Florida look. The Resort is quiet this time of year, yet it also has a building that is a bar on the property. The location is excellent and is very close to many Sarasota attractions and the historic and cultural district of Sarasota.

Worst place I ever stayed in.

My stay was horrible. The worst stay of my lifetime. When we first arrived my traveling companion need to use the restroom and he was told we needed to check in first. Then as I was checkin in we were told the lobby restroom was out of service but he could go to the bar to use the restroom. Which he did and was treated rudely by the bartender. Then we were suppose to have 2 complimentry drinks from the bar and that never happened. Then when we settled in our room for the night the toilet stopped up on the first flush. I called the front desk, no one answered the phone. After about an hour of trying to call the front desk my travel companion went to the front desk and there was a note on the door that in case of emergency to call. We called that number only to be told nothing could be done about it until 7am the next the morning. I called hotels.com and after 3 hours on the phone someone dropped a plunger off to our room and we unclogged the toilet ourselves. Serveral times while on the phone with hotels.com I ask to be moved to anouther location and was told they did not have any "inventory" to move us, but they could move us the next day but check in would not be untill the3pm. That was not acceptable beacuse the entire reason of booking for 2 nights was to have an entire day in Sarasota enjoy, not move to a new hotel and wait until 3pm to check in. We checked out the next morning and went home. Nofun, no joy, no relaxation. Lots of FRUSTRATION. Lisa R
