Stay Away!

Posted Jul 4, 2012
Pros: Close to the beach and cheap
Cons: Old, no management on site, bed sucks and no central air
Please see my review on Tripadvisor. In summary, you get what you pay for, that's for certain. Good news it's cheap, with emphasis on cheap and it's close to the beach. We made the mistake of going here just to save a few $$ and lesson learned. The place has not seen upgrade in YEARS. If you want a restful night of sleep, don't go here!

This is a real stunner. This guest received a very low rate on an excellent unit as I had not priced it for the event at the time of booking. He was allowed to check in early and was provided with a new coffee maker when he had a problem with the one in his unit. He was also spared the loss of his beach gear when the manager advised him to not leave it on the beach overnight. In return for this he bad mouths my property not only here but elsewhere as well. Some people are just never satisfied.

Be careful.

Pros: Closeness to the beach.
Cons: Dated and in need of major repair.
A little scary. Disappointed but, we almost got what we payed for.

Scary and disappointed, yet never says of what? Gives a three star rating? I'm sure they received far more than they paid!

Great location, poor amenities!

Posted May 15, 2012
Pros: Affordable price
Cons: Poor service and no room cleaning during your stay.
Location: One block from the beach and only a couple blocks from St. Armand's Circle!
This motel is affordable but you get what you pay for. No room cleaning during your stay, towels had some stains, not enough toilet paper, sand all over the floor after a couple days at the beach. The location is excellent, just a block from the beach, but next time I will pay a little more to have better amenities!

you stated that there was sand on the floor of the room after several days at the beach. that happens only when you drag the sand back into the room without washing the sand off your feet and sandles with the more than 35 foot showers at the beach at all exits. we do not want sand on the floor either. sorry, we do not offer maid service with your budget discount priced room BUT if you called the office, we could have sent a maid to your room to do what you needed at your expense about $30........,.you mention, "poor service" BUT without ever calling the office at any time during your stay, we will never know what you described as poor service.......

Perfect for single/couple

Posted Apr 16, 2012
Pros: Price and location.
Cons: Can't think of one.
Location: Across street from lido beach, short walk to Armand circle and several wildlife parks.
Perfect for a single person /couple with other activities away from motel. No amenities available at this motel (excep free wifi). This place is a great place to sleep , and across the street from the gulf for that quick early morning or late evening swim . Good price and value on lido key.

"bugs R us."

Posted Apr 10, 2012
Cons: The bugs
Location: Close to the beach.
Having to kill 7 cockroaches should never happen to anyone in a hotel.

we wish you had called our office so we could have taken care of any problem you had. we have an exterminator and that is why you saw a few roaches...he must have used a product that flushes out and then kills them.....hotels are not to be used with a flushing agent.....the roaches are insects here in Florida and they are not caused by any dirt or lack of care....but without telling us when it happened and reporting it only when you put it on a negative review is of no help to anyone....thank you.....

An uncomfortable stay!

Posted Mar 31, 2012
Pros: Rooms were spacious, microwave & fridge were clean.
Cons: all as mentioned above
Location: Location is good with the beach across the road.
Very disappointing. All the sinks had bad drainage, when using the shower we were standing in water all the time. The office was hardly ever manned & there wasn't a hairdryer or an iron & we contacted the owner who lived next door about this fact & he said he didn't supply these items because they would affect the electricity supply. Overall the apartment is ''tired'' & needs renovating.

This guest was washing off the beach sand in the bathtub which caused a serious blockage in the drain lines and clogged all outlets in the bathroom. This guest could have washed her feet and legs off at the beach where there are 35 shower heads that most beach goers use before they drag the sand into their cars and hotel room bathtubs. We never heard from her at any time during her entire stay regarding any problems at all. As a result of her actions by washing the sand into the tub and clogging the drains from the tub and sink cost us $150 with a plumbing service to blow out the sink and tub lines when the guests who followed her into the room the day after she left. Those guests told us the tub and bathroom sink would not drain and so we repaired it within 2 hrs of their call but Yvonne did not call ever. Note to all guests when you have a problem please call us and if we do not respond, then leave a comment like she did but if you dont call and complain, then dont leave any negative comments at all. We have excellent customer service here if we are informed. With just a few rooms here in a quiet pvt location, we do not sit in the office but we will go to the office within 3 minutes should you call us.

Good buy

Pros: The manager
Location: Excellent
Good buy for the money. It is very modest, but has all convinienses, very close to the beach. The greatest part is a very nice and helpful manager.

Has potential, some kinks to be worked out. Great location, good value.

This is a small motel on a side street on Lido Key, just a block from the beach. The location can't be beat. The studio size room, which I had, is spacious. The impression is of a clean, well-lighted place, as my friend put it when she saw it. She preferred it to a small condo she was staying in. There were a few issues, though, mostly having to do with housekeeping, or lack thereof. Though the room was basically clean, I found some items from a previous occupant that hadn't been cleared out of a drawer; then there was no sign of any housekeeping at all for the week. For that matter, I didn't see any of the staff during my stay, though there's a phone number to call if you need something.

The guest is correct there has never been maid service but this stated in the property profile.
