The bathrooms are ancient and in very poor condition. Old bathtubs with ugly caulk and cheap shower curtains.

Sliding door was missing a stopper, pinched my finger pretty badly. Not enough chairs around the pool had to sit on the ground. Noisy neighbors being rowdy at 11pm at night. Onsite dining was good food but slow service.

Everything was nice beside the bedding. It was stained and nasty. Also, why are there no duvet covers? Two sheets covering the down blanket is disgusting since the blanket was stained.

The property itself is very pretty. The pool is nice and the food was excellent. However, the rooms were sub par compared to other Hyatts we have stayed at. Very old, uncomfortable beds, and the AC didn't work properly. Plus, we paid for an upgrade with a balcony and we put on the first floor over top of the valet parking.

Property was beautiful, clean, modern, elegant. Balcony was very pleasant. Room was large, but not well thought-out or well utilized - lots of square footage with no furniture. Not one comfortable chair, and no lamp suitable for reading. Only two small drawers for unloading clothes from suitcase, and they were behind another door. Bathroom was large and modern, but tub had no grab bars, which every modern room should have. Pool and hot tub area were beautiful.

property was great, easy access to everything and a great location. Pool was one of the best one's in this area and it also had a hot tub. Wish the pool/hot tub area could of been open until 10pm though.

Walking distance to downtown restaurants, free shuttle service to downtown and Lido Beach. You don't really need a car. Pool was great.

Very pretty and good location. Can walk in the area and convenient to the water to eat at waterfront restaurants. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Well done! One light was out in the self-parking lot (which I reported) and since only 2 lights toward front, another light should be added to back of parking lot for guests.

The hotel was worn out and could be cleaner..the price was very high for the quality, and I felt tricked a bit about what I was getting…I’m not familiar with the area. People were camping out in the lounge eating tons of brought in food and treating the pool deck like their living rooms..it was weird.

The Hyatt Regency is supposed to be a high end hotel and we paid the price as such but the hotel is in desperation need of renovation. The room and bathroom were very outdated and sparse. The restaurant was mediocre. The pool which we paid a $30 a day resort fee for had green algae. I have a pool and I would not ever keep my pool in such poor dirty condition. Pay the extra money and go to the Westin. The Hyatt was such a disappointment. From the dirty candy stripped rugs in the hallway to the bathroom tub and walls which had patched work it needs to be cleaned and renovated

The hotel, although nice, needs a refresh. The furniture in the room was worn and dated. For a four star hotel, it didn't meet expectations.

Overall a very good experience - you can’t beat the location and views here. Employees were knowledgeable and friendly. The common areas are clean and pleasant including the pool. The rooms are older and a bit “tired” looking but I gathered as much from reading prior reviews. We enjoyed the balcony a lot and I would recommend getting a higher floor room with a balcony if you can. An easy upgrade would be to get better pillows as the ones in our room left something to be desired.

The GM should be embarrassed of this property. We have stayed at many Hyatts and this property was by far the worst. The first room we were given was extremely dirty and the carpet seemed to be coming off the floor. There was also trash on the floor from I'm guessing the previous guest. We asked to be moved to another room and they moved us to one of the remodeled rooms. It was much nicer but the shower curtain had stains on it. We were told that the property was going to be remodeled but then COVID hit so they stopped. Its 2024 now and this should have been done a long time ago. Also the pool looked like it had algae growing in it?? The bottom was green. Bottom line is they either need to change the pictures on the website OR change the prices to reflect the property. We will not be staying there again.

Nostalgia
This hotel is nostalgic for me. My mom stayed there for a month in the 90’s while looking for a house. We went there after I got married . We went there again after we had our 25th anniversary commitment ceremony . My mom and I stay there when she visits from Michigan. That being said it sort of frozen in time. They use to have a very lovely brunch , it use to be a super nice place but it seems like not a lot has been done in 30 years. I know they are improving it so that’s good and it’s priced accordingly so that’s also good. I do like it there but it desperately needs to be updated to be a place that I would like to go back to while visiting Sarasota. Just spent three nights there and the air was broken and it was freezing. And we need room service back. Love the views and hope that they get back to being an incredible play to stay.
