This is the former location of the Sarasota Boxing Club. Word has it, a dispute with the landlord forced them to re-locate. This mural still adorns the south wall. #localgem
#HighWithoutWalls Great spot to watch the sunset in Sarasota, Florida. Take Indian Beach Drive to Bayshore Road. #Wanderlust #Travel #Explore #Sunset #Beach #Florida #BestOf5 If you get a chance to visit the John and Mabel Ringling home in Sarasota, you will not be disappointed. This beautiful place is on the bay and is just spectacular.
#FindingtheUniverse Open since 1957. This is the best place to have a hangover meal in Sarasota! Always a diverse and .... entertaining crowd. A sarasota must visit in my opinion.
#Lunchtime #localgem Fluffy ricotta pancakes topped with Meyer lemon curd, fresh blackberries that looked like mini clusters of grapes and a serving of vanilla bean syrup with a side of hash browns topped with cheese and onions.
In addition to delectable cuisine, the location of Station 400 has a great backstory. The restaurant is located inside a train station the was built in 1852 in Kentwood, Indiana. The building was dismantled, moved and reassembled in the Rosemary District of Sarasota, Florida. Nice pathway in front of Goldstein Hall. This IS an art school so you will always see a continuously changing landscape of public art displayed around campus.
#localgem The Mote is such an interesting aquarium and research center. Thank you to my fellow Trovers for posting pics. Circus City Salvage in Sarasota is an amazing place to visit if you are in Sarasota. This is the home of John Ringling. The exterior is covered entirely from imported marble from Italy Sarasota sunset. J Dub's is a fun local brewery full of color! They have a pile of games in the corner of the tasting room, a food truck out front, and a beer garden in the back. We did not sample the food truck offerings, but the beer garden was lovely. We enjoyed our flights at a picnic table. And I do mean enjoyed! The beer was pretty good. They had a wide variety from Dark-O, a hearty imperial stout, to Mr. Weisse Guy, a light hearted sour. The sours were some of my favorites.

#craftbeer #brewerytourism Voted four years in a row in two categories as the number one rum in the world. Winner of spiced rum category and flavored rum (toasted coconut) category. Breakfast at a Florida airport... Don't forget to take some home for the Cat Sitter ! The Ca d'Zan mansion, home to the late John Ringling; a man who revolutionised the circus as we know it. Creating a world renowned travelling circus, who's stunts and performances thrilled audiences for years. Despite passing away in 1936, his legacy, The Ringling Brothers Circus, still perform and dazzle crowds to this very day. A guided tour of the Ca d'Zan is available for a reasonable price, packed with intriguing stories and rich history, combined with an abundance of exotic art throughout, I could not recommend it any more highly. Taken November 2014 on Thanksgiving weekend. At the back of Ringling Brothers mansion. Very nice view. Located at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, the home of John Ringling is worth the small extra price if you go to the museum. They offer free days, and cheaper tickets online, so make sure to check the website before you go.
There is a ton of walking so bring water, and a hat, it can get pretty warm in the summer months.
