Old charm in the park but dated.

Posted Sep 11, 2016
Rooms are all dated, had to change rooms 3 times due to issues. Breakfast - waited 45 min for oatmeal and bagel to be ready. Location is priceless in pine grove park. Next to bath.

Great location in need of updating

Posted Sep 7, 2016
Pros: Wonderful setting in middle of urban state park, with golf, tennis and a great spa nearby.
Cons: HVAC systems need modernizing. Décor is dated.
This formerly grand hotel , located in a very special setting, desperately needs updating. Room had no way to adjust heat, ceramic title in bath old and dated, drains were slow ..Hotel has no pool but free access to nearby pool located in the state park complex.. Breakfast on patio was satisfactory. Overall service was good considering the condition of the asset they were working with. Ownership appears to be milking property.

Walking distance to SPAC

Posted Aug 30, 2016
The hotel was ok. The staff may mont be happy with their positions or at all for that matter. Only a few knew about service and hospitality. Was only here for a night since we had tickets to a concert that was walking distance so it was fine. Went to the Roosevelt spa which felt like a hospital institution and not spa-like would not recommend to waste your money on the high prices low service in the spa.

Nice old hotel , lovely grounds , overpriced.

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Hotel is old but well kept. It is right in the middle of Saratoga Park so there are beautiful ground to walk around. We had breakfast outside, my husbands scrambled eggs tasted powdered though. Our room was never cleaned after our first night, and when we told the front desk they apologized but didn't offer to adjust the bill or anything

Outdated hotel for high dollar resort price

Posted Jul 28, 2016
This hotel is needs a complete makeover. The beds were old, room outdated and not very clean. Staff friendly. But way to expensive for an outdated hotel.

Convenient location, old world charm, quiet

Posted Jul 23, 2016
Pros: Convenience to SPAC- walk or take shuttle bus. Helpful staff. Comfortable quiet rooms, relaxing setting for walks, outdoor dining.
Cons: Take better care of minor maintenance needs; touch up paint, bath tiles, to preserve character and charm. Organize, manage wait staff more efficiently
Location: Great for SPAC, good shuttle service to shopping, restaurants, race track. Beautiful setting for walks, jogging, biking. Quiet, lots of green space.
Close to performing arts center, good shuttle service, helpful courteous staff. Dining was surprisingly good. Old world hotel shows her age a bit and the management should give it the attention it deserves. Beautiful quiet and relaxing setting vs in town hotels.
