It's ok but don't get too excited.

First I would say that the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room itself is dated and wasn't one of those that had been renovated. The toilet is maybe 18" off the ground. Im 6'3" so it was a little awkward. The shower head had next to no pressure and there was more water coming out of the tap than the head. The bathroom is also daily cramped. The area the hotel is in isn't ideal, in my opinion. As soon as I parked there was a homeless guy trying to sell me stuff while I was getting out of my car. There's a gas station on one side and a bar of the other. There were also a few strange vehicles that seemed to hang out in the parking lot from time to time. I will mention that the hotel clerk was nice about changing and installing light bulbs in the fixtures when I told him I was a little nervous about my vehicle being parked in the dark. The continental breakfast was nothing special but it did the job. There was no cereal which surprised me but there was instant oatmeal. Overal it's nothing special for what you pay but I'd stay here again if I had to.

Functional and good location.

Pros: Exit directly from room to car parking on ground floor only. VERY good staff. The rooms are older but clean and well maintained firm comfortable bed
Cons: New TV sets, better controls on air conditioning/heaters.
Location: Good pub food next door and drug store across the street, this is an EXCELLENT stopover on a driving road trip. Gas station with attendants next door
The beds are comfortable, room rates are reasonable.. There is newly renovated rooms available for a slightly higher rate. I was going to be there for 6 hours rest so I got one of the older rooms for a lower rate and is merely just an older typical 80's construction and some guests may be disappointed in the fit and finish of the fixtures and other non essential but visible parts. I liked the ground floor entrance from my room directly to the parking lot/vehicle. I was dissapointed with the television set itself, and think a decent sized flat screen is staple in most rooms anywhere these days, get at least a 720P flat screen. I found the front staff very, extremely, incredibly helpful, and kind. I forgot about my 200.00 room deposit, (which Expedia doesn't tell you about when booking!) The staff called me on my cell and refunded it to me electronically. I didn't mind the location with a nice pub with good pub fare and local microbrewery beer on tap, and next door and across the street. The traffic noise was minimal. I will certainly stay there again if I need to be in Saskatoon overnight.

Don't go to the Westgate..nightmare

Horrible place to stay, seedy area, seedy people when you approach the entrance of the motel..we were told the total price at Expedia and they changed the price at the motel. We had to get the remote for the tv at the office. One facecloth allowed per room, when i asked an attendant, she said that was the policy even though we were a couple and that in every hotel or motel we ever visited in our lives had at least the minimum 2 facecloths per room, the attendant was strict into not giving us another one... bulbs broken in the room. This place is absolutely cheap, cheap, cheap.

It was over booked so when I showed up with my reservation number and conformation. The basically said to bad. This was the night of the black sabbath concert so all hotels in saskatoon were booked. So because of this place I had to sleep in my car through a snow storm after a concert. I strongly suggest not booking this hotel staff is poor and the building is worse.

It's a decent place to stay for a nights sleep

Pros: Price and availability
Hotels in Saskatoon are incredibly expensive and this one has a decent rate, decent staff, decent rooms, and is in a good location within the downtown area.

Okay hotel considering price

The hotel is okay keeping in mind current Saskatoon prices. While it isn't likely the best hotel/motel in Saskatoon, it certainly isn't the worst in my view.
