Outdated rooms. Room key not needed to enter building when using side doors. Pool was very chlorine-y, suits still smelled of chlorine a day later. Our room was never cleaned during our two day stay and when we questioned it were told he had requested it not be. Air conditioner wouldn't stay on thru the night.

Very old hotel that needs to be updated. Room was clean. Rest of the hotel was run down and dingy. Breakfast was decent.

Worn down

Posted May 15, 2016 on Hotels
The room was incredibly dusty which I didnt mind, but my mother with asthma had a hard time sleeping. The room itself needs updating, most significantly the mattresses. They looked worn down and thin.

Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry the room was dusty and will be checking with our head housekeeper about this. We also will be updating the entire hotel very soon including new matresses.

A very average motel room.

Posted May 5, 2016
Pros: We had a room with a handicap bathroom which was roomy; the handrails all around were helpful; the room was clean; access from I-75 was easy
Cons: Softer beds, higher toilets, lower water pressure, and, most definitely, a larger breakfast.
Location: Of course, the famous Soo Locks are just a few miles north with Great Lake steamers often in evidence, great fishing, and a truly historic background.
1. Wherever someone got the idea that beds should be hard as rock, this motel picked up on it and equipped their rooms accordingly. 2. This motel also got the idea that most of its customers were little people, subsequently be prepared to become familiar with you knees when you toilet since they're going to be very close to your face; the next step above hole-in-the-floor toilets in some European countries. 3. The most egregious problem for us was the amount of cold water needed to waste to arrive at warm; we figure between 4 and 5 gallons of water wasted each time we tried to wash our hands. With the world quickly running out of fresh water, this type of waste should be actionable by the EPA. Also, the handle on the faucet is such that one either gets a trickle or a blast so be prepared for a cold shower if you turn on the faucet without extreme care. 6. Admittedly, we don't travel much, but the few places we've stayed have had continental breakfasts that one could feel satisfied after eating. Not so this one. This was the skimpiest amount of food they could get away with serving and still call it a breakfast. The only warm food was toast and those cheese-in-egg abominations warmed in a nuker. This is the first place we've stayed that didn't have bacon or sausage or waffles. Had we more time we'd surely have had hit the restaurant next door.

I apologize that you felt our beds were hard. I will add that our toilets are the required height that is needed to meet certain requirements. The hot water will take a time to warm up just like in a house but I do not think that gallons of it were ran to get it warm. Our breakfast does include pancakes, waffles, egg and sausage patties, and other items.

Very nice but disappointed over pool.

Posted Mar 12, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel was quite reasonably priced and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was very good. However I was very bummed that the pool and hot tub were not in good working order and it felt like there was a layer of slimy film on the water. The hotel worker said it would be fixed later the day that we left but of course that didn't help me out much. I purposely had chosen this hotel and paid more for these amenities so I was very disappointed.

I am sorry we had issues with the pool that day. Please understand that issues arise sometimes and we do our best to deal with them in a timely manner. I am glad to hear that our staff was accommodating and friendly and that you enjoyed our breakfast. We hope to see you again when you are in the area.

It was nice and close to our eye doctor appointmen

Posted Feb 14, 2016
Pros: I really liked our room location, it was close to an exit door. The staff were really nice people.
Cons: We were really looking forward to using the pool and hot tub, I wish they were working.
Location: There were many stores for shopping, and restaurants with good food and friendly people.
It was a nice hotel, however, the swimming pool was not working, the hot tub was dirty, housekeeping never came to our room on the second day, the juice machine was out of order, and there was no fitness room as advertised on their website.
