Pros: Hotel receptionist, Charlotte was brilliant, couldn't have been more helpful
Location: Opposite the Abbey, which despite the pouring rain, was brilliant.
Rooms were VERY dull! The first one we were shown was a very dull dark brown and had very little natural light. It was also stiflingly hot. To get more natural light we had to upgrade, which, as it was a fairly pricey hotel anyway, was not what we were looking to do. Our 'upgraded' room turned out to be above a store room which staff used, quite noisily, as late as 23.00 and as early as 6.30am, a bit of a pain. The breakfast was ok, but they had to go out and buy extra croissant every morning, which seemed a bit daft. Evening meal was very good on both times we went there.

Good hotel in lovely setting.Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: Location and pool.
Cons: Air conditioning in room although fan was provided.
Location: Great location for cycling, walking and site seeing.
Stayed here for two days . Ideal location for cycling the Loire. Set in a picturesque courtyard. Not sure when we approached hotel car park as you drive through a housing estate, but when you walk out of front of hotel we were pleasantly surprised. Didn't eat in hotel cycled down to Montersareau which was ideal for us. Breakfast good though. Also had a pool which we needed as it was really hot when we stayed so ideal to use at end of day.

Not as expected for cost.Posted May 23, 2015 on Hotels
Wet towels and floor mat, poor WiFi in room, faucet spray, shower-bathroom too dark.

Great hotelPosted Apr 5, 2015 on Hotels
Perfect location - just across the square from the entrance of the abbey. Lovely room (we upgraded to a superior room and it was very spacious and comfortable). Nice breakfast.

Lovely hotel by the abbeyPosted Sep 20, 2014 on Hotels
We loved this clean, upscale hotel, located in a charming hilltop town, just across from the historic Fontevraud Abbey in the center of the town square. Rooms were very spacious with a lovely shower, and were extremely clean. Great location, ideal for visiting Chinon and Saumur, but far enough away from bigger cities that you could feel like you were in a remote town. We ate at the hotel for breakfast one morning and for dinner one night, both of which were very nice. There is convenient parking located just behind the hotel. Highly recommended.
