Overpriced, Unclean and Very Disappointing

Posted Sep 29, 2017
Pros: The staff is very nice.
Cons: Almost everything! Better cleaning staff, new beds, sofa beds and a/c units. Make breakfast free.
We typically like to stay at Embassy Suites in the Pooler area when we travel north to visit family. Unfortunately, they did not have a room that was large enough for us on our way home this time. We booked what we thought would be a comparable room at this hotel, but we were incredibly disappointed. When we arrived, we were handed sheets for the sleeper sofa (because we had to make the bed ourselves). The sheets were stained and the extra blanket we were given was frayed and unraveling. These sheets had seen better days. There was a noticeable dip at the head of the sofa bed. My kids had to sleep with their pillows at the foot of the bed instead. The other two beds were very hard and did not have a mattress topper. The a/c was your standard (overly humid) window unit that only cooled half the room. The light switch in the bathroom had to be jiggled up and down to work. And I woke up to find other people's hair in the bed! To top it all off, breakfast was not free... I would not be so upset with all these little details if it were not for the fact that we paid the same price for this room as we do when we stay up the road (at a place that includes things like a free breakfast, cozy mattress toppers, regular a/c and working sofa beds that you don't have to make!). The only nice thing I can say about the place was that the staff was very kind and helpful when we checked in and checked out. This place is way overpriced, needs some renovation and a better cleaning staff!

Bed was lumpy and had low spots you roll into. May be just that room / bed. I was surprised due to the ratings it had received

Nice hotel, close to I-95

Posted May 9, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Clean, new, good location for easy access to I-95.
Cons: Include breakfast
This hotel appears to be relatively new and is in very good shape. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and in good shape. Typical Holiday Inn...nothing fancy but comfortable and with most of the basic amenities you need. The only issues I had are that breakfast is not included and there's no safe in the room. I also think the room rate was high for what you get, but there's not a lot of clean, quality competition in the area, so I guess they can get away with a higher rate.

Serves the purpose well enough

The staff was very friendly and very good about trying to control the volume of the birthday party taking place in the room next to ours (a dozen or so teenage girls-- you can imagine the volume!). The bathroom was pretty clean and the room was fine, even though a chunk of the carpet was oddly missing. The pool desperately needs some cleaning attention, as well as some more indoor seating for parents supervising their children swimming.
