would have been nice if they had informed us that renovations were going on and that the pool was not open-changed to them because of the pool

Great location. Terrific staff but....

Upon checking in I was ready to give the hotel 5 stars forgiving the shabby reception desk that was undergoing renovations. I had stayed here previously and liked it enough to stay again. The staff is warm and friendly. The location cannot be beat. I'm originally from Savannah, so I can tell ya it's an awesome location. You can walk to the river in one direction and walk to Forsyth park in the other direction. Anyway that said, the hotel wassssss undergoing renovations (and I'm sure it be be awesome when completed) that made the hotel, not so great. For instance there was no water in the pool. The room was nice and very clean, although no mini bar, which was a let down. I had a few other minor complaints, but they do add up. Now I must say this. When I complained (genially) to the front desk they comp'd one night. I see that as a huge positive. So just check on the renovation before booking. If they are done, I'd give the hotel a chance.

Nice hotel. Great location.

Pros: Valet drivers were are favorite. They were all so kind and friendly.
Cons: elevators are very slow.
Location: Great location.
Great location. Disappointed that the pool was closed for repair. Valet parking was good. The valet drivers were all very nice. America and Corey were the greatest. They were so helpful and friendly.

Great location but that's about it- disappointing.

Loved the location, comfy beds. No toilet paper even after housekeeping came through, floors very dirty.Friday night seafood buffet terrible, overpriced and poor service. (They did take 1/2 off dinner bill due to our wait time) Understaffed. Room service food - gross. Pool not in working order as it was being renovated. Very disappointing for a Hilton property. Loved Savannah, but wouldn't ever stay at the Desoto again.

Great location...

You can hear everything that happens in the building. No water pressure, no hot water, inconsistent AC. Housekeeping didn't leave toilet paper.

Clean and modern room in a great location

Second time staying here. They must have renovated recently, because everything in the room was new. Much nicer than our previous visit (which wasn't bad). Fantastic views of the city from the balcony. Very good location. Very clean.

Very nice hotel in the center of Savannah.

The hotel is under construction but the room was very nice and the staff was great. The hotel is very centrally located. Walking distance from most attractions. Valet is $25 and there is no self parking.
