Conveniently located off of I-95 with several options for gas, hotel, food. I’ve stayed off this exit nearly 10 times in 6 years. Most of the hotels in the area are dated but well maintained, with a lower rate than competing, newer hotels. First time at this La Quinta.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking lot well lit. Mattress was comfortable. Low noise on the premises. Pool. Convenient to activities. Check out is 11, which is nice for sleeping in. Breakfast lasts longer than other hotels.
Cons: no elevator for ADA. Smutty looking hand/finger prints on several walls and doors. Dried drips and runs on doors and walls. It appears the rooms get swept and quickly wiped down, but little else done. Our bedding (cover AND sheets) had what appeared to be long, black wig hair on them and the top cover has misc things on it that looked like dirty shoes had been set on the bed. Staff quickly and apologetically brought us a complete change of linens. But that made us hyper aware of the other cleanliness issues because if the cleaning staff doesn’t care if we see these easily visible items, then how much do they care about what we can’t easily see? We skipped the minimal breakfast due to the sanitation concerns.
Summary: an old hotel is fine by us. We just need it clean and comfortable. But this one gave us the heebie jeebies and we have stayed at some off the path places.
