Just sleep in your car!!!Posted Jul 21, 2015
We took a last minute trip. This was the only place that had availability. We thought that it couldn't be that bad, but we were wrong. The place smelled like cigarettes. There was a tissue or something nailed to the wall. We assumed to keep the smoke detectors from going off. We both immediately began to itch as soon as we went to bed. The next morning we found what we think was a dead bed bug! We should have realized the room was going to be bad when we saw the lobby. The wallpaper was peeling away and there was nasty mold covering the walls. I gave a rating of 3 for the staff because the guy that checked us in was nice. However, the next morning, a different man was working. He did not want to cancel our reservation for the second night. Someone from Expedia called on our behalf and it was finally cancelled. We stayed at the Brice in historic downtown Savannah the next night and had a lovely stay. We never itched once when we went to bed. My advice is to book a good hotel in advance or sleep in your car if Red Roof Inn is your only option. I wish we had. We were charged an outrageous amount for the rundown room we stayed in.

what was expected from Red RoofPosted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: The front desk clerk a young Lady was very nice
Location: wasn't important
There was over 8 dogs on the first floor alone. It looked like they were trying to fix up the area. there looked like mold on the bathroom ceiling. Towels were very thin and old. I have never stayed at a RED ROOF before and will not again

Birthday weekend gone wrongPosted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
When I made the reservations I requested extra towels be in the room before we arrived and they were not. There was however a horrible smell. We thought maybe it was because the air was off. We turned the air on and left for the day. Once we returned that night the smell was still there just not as strong. We asked the front desk for towels and they said they were out even though I had requested them to be in my room ahead of our arrival. I turned the refrigerator on in our room to keep my water and soda cold and later on that night we had a puddle of water on the floor coming from the refrigerator. Once we prepared to take a bath I had to scrub the tub first because it was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The so-call free WiFi never worked and when I asked about it all they said was all you have to do is connect but it never connected and there was no password. Then to top everything else off at night the room phone kept ringing!! So needless to say my birthday weekend at this hotel was not the best.

Accidently booked smoking. And would not let us change. Also in the middle of remodeling. Not a very good time

Stay Way!Posted Jul 6, 2015
I'd like to preface this by saying that the hotel was undergoing renovations. Unfortunately, that's still no excuse for the level of service given. I had to wait 30 mins past check-in to get my room and management didn't seem to care. The shower temperature handles were backwards and the faux hardwood floors were in need of mopping. On top of that the Internet was painfully slow and practically unusable. Avoid this place like the plague! You've been warned!!

Under constructionPosted Jul 3, 2015
The hotel was under construction. No one told us when we booked that it would be. The pool was closed because they were using tools in front of the pool. The lobby was full of tools and furniture. The dining room was closed so no breakfast. The close was clean but the bathroom was coming apart. The toilet made a horrible sound when it flushed. The shower rod was falling apart. The hotel had a terrible smell. It was awful. The reason we picked this hotel was because the pool looked nice and they had free breakfast which neither was available. My kids wanted to go swimming but we couldn't.

Bad experience in Pooler, GAPosted Jul 3, 2015 on Hotels
We were not able to check in until around 3am due to travel issues. When we got there we had the last room with 2 double beds. When we walked in to the room the first thing we noticed was a really bad smell. The next thing was that the A/C was not working. When my husband asked at the desk about these issues, the desk attendant handed him a bottle of liquid that he was told to pour into the tub. As far as the A/C, we were told to unplug the unit & wait 10-15 minutes to plug it back in. The last thing we wanted to do @ 3am was to wait to be able to be comfortable & go to bed. Since it was the last available room w/2 beds, we had no choice but to stay there. Needless to say, we will certainly not be staying there again.

One of the worst hotels I have ever seenPosted Jun 29, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel is terrible. I don't know how anyone could rate it 2 or 3 stars, regardless of price. The rooms are old and in poor shape. The entire hotel smells. The door to our room had multiple holes in it where old locks have been installed and either removed or broken. The person behind the counter provided awful service - the hotel was completely booked when we stayed, as were all the other hotels in the area, and they didn't even have enough parking spaces for all the guests (due to about 20 spaces being taken by commercial and construction trucks and equipment that the hotel apparently rents out to companies to use ), and the clerk told us to park along the sidewalk in a no parking zone or in a handicapped space. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again for free, or even if you paid me to.
