Beautiful historic hotel.

Posted Mar 28, 2017
Pros: History, architecture
Cons: High dusting needed done, had to call for additional coffee and towels more than once, toilet was a little touchy.
Location: Plenty to do within walking distance or trolley hopping. Heart of historic district. Beautiful.
The history of the building is the reason I chose this hotel, not to mention the location in the heart of the historic district. Though it doesn't have all the amenities of a newer facility (off site parking, minimal outlets in room, toilet constantly running) the true history buff will be perfectly happy here. Great view of the river.

Thank you for your review. We will use your comments to improve! With our building being 200 years old and sitting along the Savannah River, off site parking is our only option. We pay approximately $10,000 per month to the City of Savannah for parking passes so we may provide parking for our guests. Also, due to the age of our historic, 200 year old building, we have retrofitted it with additional outlets, as it certainly predates all the electronics used today. We are repairing the items you mentioned, thank you for letting us know. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Great old Southern charm hotel.

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Cons: Lighting and outlets. Staff could benefit from customer service training.
Location: Great location. Sit outside by the river or walk to shops and restaurants.
Great locations on the river and around all of the activity of the city. The hotel lacks lighting, desk for working, and outlets to charge technology items. Some of the staff were good and helpful. Some not so much. We were promised they would call ahead and have us a reservation at a restaurant. It did not occur.

Great location.

Joey was a wealth of information and so friendly. Front desk staff helpful. Would have liked an iron and ironing board in the room. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Loved having a room that faced the river.

Good and bad

Posted Mar 23, 2017
Pros: Location, staff, and historic aspect of the building and area.
Location: Lot of things to see and do within walking distance. Restaurants were great, lots of shops available, and some nice art galleries close by.
The Good: Great location. Staff was fantastic. Room was clean. Had a nice view of the river. The Bad: A/C blower made terrible noise on low and medium so, it had to stay on high......got pretty cold! Took bathroom sink forever to drain. Told housekeeper before we left for the day but, was no better when we got back. Could hear people in the room next door talking......not very private.

On the river.

Posted Mar 23, 2017
We enjoyed staying at this gem right on the river. The view from our room was spectacular. We ate at Tubbys on hotel site and it was very good. It was close to river shops and the trolley. Did not like the dinky pillows though.

Nice historic Inn , great location

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: Good location and very spacious room
Cons: Parking!!!
Location: Close to all.
First time staying at this hotel but were misled regarding parking. Valet parking is $20.00 but self parking at the municipal lot which they use is cheaper if you self park $5.00- $10.00which was recommended. Unfortunately because it was St. Patrick's day weekend, the lot decided to charge $20.00/ day. Regardless of checking in only on Sunday, we were charged $27.00 for one night. Lugging luggage up 5 flights of stairs as elevator in the parking lot was out of order was challenging! Overall the hotel is great. Parking not so much!!!

Authentic colonial hotel on the River

Posted Mar 18, 2017
Pros: Location, wine bar, furnishings
Location: Walking distance to most of the cities attractions
Had seen this hotel in past visits to Savannah, but never expected to snag a room, and at a great price, the day before the St Patricks festivities began. Couldn't believe they have a daily wine and cheese open bar for their guests. The furnishings are quite authentic heirloom quality period pieces, with a pencil post bed and 14 foot ceilings with a real fireplace in the rooms. And it is right on the river walk above the wonderful bars and restaurants just below on the river bank.

Dirty and disappointing

Posted Mar 17, 2017
Pros: Not much...
Cons: Just about everything...
The room was dirty, the carpets were worn and dirty, the bathroom was outdated and fixtures were barely operable. The staff had attempted to repair holes in the walls, but failed to sand or paint the "repair". The final insult was finding insects on the bathroom floor.
