Very nice hotel on the river front

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The location is the best.
Cons: We only stayed one night and checked in at night. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 9am & 10am when checkout was at 11am? Why?
Location: You can easily walk to all the shops and restaurants on the Riverfront. Also, easily accessible to walk to the squares in the historic city areas.
Loved the hotel. It was right on the river front. You can easily walk to all the shops and restaurants. Also, very nice scenery to just sit and watch the boats and ships sail by. Will definitely stay here again!

OK Hotel, needs updating

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: It was near the boardwalk, not much else.
Cons: Update the Hotel, the room was musty and we were on the 6th floor.
Location: It was a short walk to the boardwalk, lot's of shops and restaurants. I would suggest taking the trolley around the city for a tour.
Hotel was OK, the price was high for what you got, had to pay an additional $21 a day parking at the Hotel's own lot? They are building a Homewood suites next door, so construction started at 7:00am everyday including the weekends, so no sleeping past 7:00am. I am a Marriott member, but I would not stay here again.

Clean my room

Posted Aug 3, 2015
I don't care to pay that much for a room and they forget to service it. I shouldn't have to call the front desk asking for towels when I get back there expecting to relax

Hotel was very nice. Front desk staff and evening manager excellent. We had booked king bed in error. We needed 2 double beds and they arranged that. Loved parking in parking garage with no payment due. They hooked our children up with free WIFI. Loved stay in Savannah.

Tony the doorman was awesome - He deserves a 5!!!

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: the river front - easy access
Cons: cleanliness, staff could be friendlier, and housekeeping was lacking. Did not clean our room two days in a row and no we did not have privacy on door
Location: Location is its saving grace - great location!
I realize that I was staying during a holiday weekend...I had to request towels, etc twice one day...not fun when you return to your room late at night and do not even have what was promised earlier before we left...\ I will give the hotel a 5 on experience in regards to firework experience but honestly as a longtime Marriott customer this hotel did not meet Marriott standards.

disappointed

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: The staff were very nice.
Cons: Don't charge for parking. Improve the air conditioning system in each room. Offer more than basic cable. Fix the elevators.
They charged for parking at the hotel ($21.00 per day) and Expedia did not indicate there would be any additional charges . The elevators did not work. We had to walk down to the lobby each time we left our room. There were no movie channels offered on the television system, just basic cable. The air conditioning in the room rattled and was very noisy. The outside pool was not available during the early morning or late at night.

Good location. Run down hotel in a work zone.

Pros: Friendly staff. Location on the river.
Cons: Wish we would have known about the construction and the lightning issue before we arrived.
There's construction going on around the Marriott hotel, so it's hard to get to. There was a lightning strike that took out the elevator controls, so we had to call the front desk to get an elevator. They said it wouldn't be fixed for weeks. The lightning strike seems to have affected the kitchen because the food was not near as good as when we stayed a few years ago. No breakfast buffet the first day. Dinner barbeque buffet was bad - store bought desserts and warmed up chicken. The atrium leaked when it rained - they had trash cans out to catch the drops. Power went out on our last day, and we had no satellite TV and no hotel movies. Tough on a family with young children. Staff was kind, helpful - tried to make the best of it. But my family did not get our money's worth.
