Perfect hotel for wedding guests

Posted Aug 21, 2015
My fiancé, mom and I came to Savannah to stay for a couple of days to scope things out for our wedding. Our guests are staying at Staybridge Suites so we wanted to get a feel of the rooms, breakfast, and walking distance of the area. The room was perfect! We had a kitchen, which is great for our guests who are staying for a week or for the ones that are on a special diet. The location is walking distance from the river front, the squares, restaurants and so much more. Our favorite part was durin social time from 5:30-7:30 Tuesday-Thursday. They provide free beer and wine and heavy apps. We didn't have to go out for a meal so we saved so much money! Finally, the staff was so friendly and helpful. They answered all the questions we had and went above and beyond for us. We had an absolutely amazing experience and can't wait to go back in April for our wedding. We know our guests will be taken care of to the fullest.

GREAT LOCATION BUT

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: GREAT LOCATION
Cons: A DOWNWARD SLOPE FROM SHOWER TO TOILET AND DOOR IS NOT PRACTICAL IF NOT REMODELED PLEASE PROVIDE EXTRA TOWELS.
Location: FANTASTIC
ROOM WAS CLEAN. HOTEL STAFF VERY HELPFUL. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY A DESK WAS IN THE ROOM BUT NO CHAIR IN THE ROOM TO SIT DOWN. YOU COULD COOK IN THE KITCHEN BUT YOU HAVE TO EAT IN THE BED. I HOPE I HAVE ENOUGH ROOM AVAILABLE HERE TO DESCRIBE THE BATHROOM. WHEN YOU SHOWERED YOU NEEDED TO WIPE UP THE WATER THAT DID NOT DRAIN WITH ALL AVAILABLE TOWELS . MY WIFE HAD TO PUSH THE WATER AWAY FROM THE TOILET AND DOOR TO THE ROOM.. I NOW UNDERSTAND WHY THIS ROOM WAS ON THE FIRST FLOOR

Pros: Very comfortable and clean. Great staff
Location: The Staybridge is on E Bay Street directly across from the steps leading to River Street, E Bay Street is also the main route to Tybee Island.
We arrived early and the room was not ready, we were offered coffee or a cold drink while we waited while we relaxed in the foyer, the staff are very accomedating. This was our second stay at the Staybridge but will not be our last.

Great hotel in heart of historic district

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness
Location: Lots to do. Walk across to river front to eat or go a few blocks back for Broughton, and lots of shopping
First thing I noticed was the southern charm. I was greeted with a goodmorning, good evening, etc from every single staff member. Even the young ones. That was very welcoming. The Hotel is built in the shell of an old original building on Bay street, which added to the historic ambience. Just like every other hotel in this area, the rooms are small, but that is to be expected in historic Savannah. Location with great, we walked everywhere. Night time was brightly lit and safe, so was parking. Just a heads up, parking is $12 a day but you will be happy you paid it. You really don't need a car if you are sticking to the historic area which is plenty of shopping, restaurants, bars, lots of history to look at and check out. There was a breakfast served in the morning, with a nice variety of the usual. It was also a manager social in the evening, with wings, salad etc. I was extremely comfortable at this hotel. When the stovetop didn't work, (there is a tiny- and I mean tiny- kitchenette) I called down and the hotel engineer was there in about 3 min. He found the issue (it was turned off at the panel) and I was cooking 5 min after I called. I found salmon steaks at the Kroger a few blocks behind my hotel (again walking distance and with a beautiful southern canopy road to enjoy on the way). I can't wait to return.

Pros: Liked the kitchen in the room even though we weren't there long enough to use it. we made coffee and used the fridge.
Cons: new mattresses, biggest concern
Location: great, right across street from river and all the shops.
Nice place except dated. The mattress was old and the springs would make popping noises. Also if you sat on end of bed the other side of bed would flip right up, so that made it difficult to sit on end of bed to put socks on and stuff. Also the bathroom door would hit the toilet. Had to have toilet seat up so you could close the door. Plugged in cell phone chargers into outlets and they moved a lot and when I unplugged charger the outlet came out with it. For the most part liked the place just needs a little work, and I would stay again. The location was great to the surrounding area. We did like that it was in the old city and the property was old and fit it, but a few maintenance issues and it would be great.
