Mostly great. I love that this hotel has a small recliner in each room! Super clean, but some updates needed. The refrigerator in the room made a constant loud clunking noise due to a broken ice maker that wouldn’t turn off, and the bathroom faucet handle kept falling off. Climate control worked well, very comfortable bed and pillows, fast WiFi, functional kitchen area, friendly staff. I would return!

They promote using on premises, one can’t smoke weed without judgment but one can definitely happily IV use their drugs and a blind eye is batted, power outage and their staff has hung up on me and avoided answering the phone to give me their supervisors number. Wouldn’t even recommend this as the American addicts dream

It worked really well for us. We like having the kitchen alot. The room was clean except it had a strange odor when you first walked in. Free coffee was great. We will definitely considering staying there in the future.

We came here to leave our house with no power. The hotel does not have generators so we are crossing our fingers that nothing happens. As I have a child and we are not interested in being with no hear.

Get what you pay for?
This Candlewood suites was the most attractively priced hotel in greater Portland, but in the end, I should have paid more and stayed somewhere else. To be fair, I was in the area for a work trip but also bringing along a girlfriend and trying to impress her with a trip to Portland. This hotel did not impress her. The staff was friendly. No question. The outside looked great. But the inside common areas signaled right away that this wasn’t the boutique hotel experience I had dreamt of. Floors needed to be vacuumed, carpet actually needed to be replaced, and lots of bagged room trash in the hallways. The room was fine but the furniture was beat up, the bathroom was dusty and the toilet seats slid around. On the plus side, the laundry machines were free. I think I just can’t get over how much a hotel room costs in New England and the price was effectively telling me to expect this. In the end, my girlfriend and I felt perfectly safe and happy getting cozy in our suite. We had a good laugh about everything else. Was this a fine place to stay? Sure. But next time, I would spend more money.

We needed a two room suite, so that was good. Staff was excellent. Rooms were clean but kind of a funky layout. Road traffic was very load. Would have been nice to have restaurant service within walking distance.

Not very well cleaned
Definitely not cleaned well: kitchen counter was dirty, and the bathroom is a bit disgusting. No counter space in the bathroom. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. It was quite and the gentleman at the front desk was very efficient.

Good base for a family NH visit
Unlike all hotels in a near by Portland, Candlewood is an affordable place to stay for a family. We stayed in a two bedroom suite. Plenty of space. Well equipped kitchen.

Very dangerous bathroom
Physical plant in poor condition…..bathroom is a death trap if u try to take a shower-no handrails and the slick bottom of the bathtub makes it very dangerous to try to stand up-just waiting for a lawsuit-reported everything to management showed no interest
