AVOID!Posted Sep 20, 2014
My colleague and I booked rooms for this hotel via Expedia.com and when we arrived there we were greeted with a notice from the owner about the hotel being overbooked as well as his nasty attitude. When I tried to reason with him, he got irate and started cursing at me and my colleague. I've stayed at many hotels throughout the USA and have never been treated so horribly in my life. I highly recommend going elsewhere and avoiding this place.

There are cheaper, better hotels nearbyPosted Aug 17, 2014
If this had been some budget place, I might have understood the dark rooms and pointy spring mattresses, but this was as expensive as downtown Portland. Yes, it's on a beach, but so is everything else around here, including the cheap place across the street which probably had lights and sleepable mattresses.

A very pleasant, quiet visit!Posted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: The location near a nice beach was terrific. The staff were polite and friendly, the room was white-glove clean. Impressive!
Location: The Lighthouse Inn is near a quiet, beautiful beach. It is within a mile or two of Old Orchard Beach Amusement Park, many shops and restaurants.
We recently took a family vacation to New England and stayed at the Lighthouse Inn. Our room was carefully prepared for our arrival. The hotel staff placed a rollaway bed in our room for one of our children before we arrived without our needing to request it. There were just the right amount of towels, shampoo bottles, and soaps for each guest in our room, with starlight mint candy for each guest.
