central and convenient yet quiet

Posted Aug 30, 2017
The basic package is all you need for Berlin - it is a city with almost everything. Any extras - you pay, though anything else you should want is there on the doorstep of the Hotel, shops, bars, cafes etc. The 100 bus and 200 bus at one end of the street and u bahn and other bus routes at the other The windows opened out onto a courtyard which is good if you have sinus, adenoid, athsma or other issues with air-con. The televisions have USB ports so you can use them to charge your smart phone: (btw, a general tip on travelling anywhere - turn off all unneccessary apps on your phone including hotspot, wifi, bluetooth - Berlin like all other main cosmopolitan cities is fertile ground for people who hack your phone and data through wifi] - so it is best to turn on and use your apps or phone when you really need them).

Well Located Hotel - Excellent Value

Posted Aug 17, 2017
Pros: Location, helpful welcome, location, value,
Cons: More tea and coffee and a fridge. Usual German thing of only one device for WiFi.
Location: Wittenberg Platz is well located for exploring the city. Nearby there are a range of restaurants and a supermarket in the Platz itself.
This was our second visit as we find the hotel very convenient (15 minutes walk from Zoo so good for both airports) and excellent value. The rooms are of a good standard with tea and coffee but no fridge. A good base for visiting Berlin as a tourist or for business.

Good hotel near public transport.

Posted Aug 10, 2017
Pros: Sorat Ambassador is a big, well run hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient. Great breakfasts. Spotlessly clean. Safe and secure reception 24/7.
Cons: The hotel can be very hot even in winter. No air con in summer, which can be very hot and muggy in Berlin.
Location: Berlin Zoo, KaDeWe department store, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, cafes, restaurants and shops on the Ku'damm, Kollwitz museum, Zoo Palast cinema.
I have stayed in this hotel four times. I like its location in former West Berlin. It is well served by public transport including buses. It is easily accessed from Tegel airport. It is in a busy but safe part of town and does not feel touristy. I find it easy to plan my day and get around the city easily from this location.

Nice hotel for a city break

Posted Aug 5, 2017
Nice hotel, rooms are clean and of a good size very close to u Bahn station, main shopping street and the zoo .100 bus stops at the end of the road. wifi can be very slow at peak times and rooms can get a bit hot in the summer but not really a problem we just got back and it was 30c but drops off at night

Good location

Posted Aug 5, 2017
Disappointed to find that our "non smoking, courtyard view" room reeked of smoke and faced a noisy street. The room itself was clean and comfortable, though. There was plenty to do and see in the area. Very close to KaDeWe and there were plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops within a short walk. A shame the hotel bar was so expensive as we'd have liked to spend more time there.

Hotel was ok. Ordered a double room and was given a twin. Could have done with air con as the room was very hot. The bath plug didn't work and the shower was damaged so sprayed everywhere. It was nice enough if you were just coming back late to sleep and leaving early in the morning for your day but needed modernisation and updating really.

Dear Lucy, uups, we can do much better :-( Sorry for any inconvenience regarding your bathroom, we will check this immediately. For your next trip to Berlin we highly recommend our completely renewed comfort guest rooms with free access to the hallway fridges - a real good choice!

Close to train station and shopping

Posted Jul 18, 2017
The hotel is in good location that is close to everywhere and going to the airport only takes 30 minutes (train 2 stops + bus). The hotel room that I got is very dated. It has no air-con and facing to the street. So can be a bit noisy on Friday night when you have the windows opened during summer night.

Dear J, Thanks a lot for staying with us and for the summary of your impressions. We feel so sorry by reading you did not felt completely comfy. Perhaps you would prefer our standard rooms with courtyard view or our renovated comfort rooms next time? Both available here on this website. But please note: you won`t find an AC in any of our guestrooms. Alternatively there are some fans available at the reception. See you!

Nice hotel close to all the action in Berlin.

Posted Jul 16, 2017
Pros: Centrally located.
Cons: Install air conditioning.
Location: Lots of shopping and very close to various forms of transportation.
One block from the KaDeWe department store. An u-bahn station is a half block away. Bus stop is even closer. No air conditioning, at least in my room on the seventh floor. Great doner kebab shop across the street from the hotel. The staff speaks English and were very helpful and friendly.

Thanks a lot for the nice review and the pics! It seems as if you had a real good time here in Berlin, great! You are absolutely right, we do not have an AC, but please do not hesitate to ask our receptionists for a fan, we have some available and they are quite helpful in case of real hot periods!

Hotel is on great location in former centar of west Berlin, very close to metro station.Everything you need is in walking distance, good little pub with draft beer, bakery, market wich work until 11pm,KadeWe shoping centar... Hotel itself has seen a better days, but it's clean and the service is great. We were on the 6- th floor in june and I can tell you that it can be very warm and there is no aircodition and no minibar.Wi-fi is limited to one device and 24 hour after wich you need to renew your password but signal is good.Over all you get what you paid. I recommend it as a base for a tourist visit of Berlin, but maybe not in hot summer months.

Dear Marija, Thanks a lot for choosing our hotel and for your nice feedback! You are absolutely right, our location is perfect to discover Berlin: right in the heart of the city west and with easy access to all other interesting places because of the "U-Bahn" nearby. No, we do not have AC or minibars in our guestrooms, they are exactly equipped with all features listed in the descriptions. For real hot periods there are some fans available at the reception. We highly recommend our comfort guestrooms with free access to the hallway fridges (water, juice and beer unlimited) - a good alternative to the missing minibar, isn`t it? See you!
