Pros: Food and Service in Chez Rouz was impeccable.
Cons: As a boutique hotel perhaps a few more personal touches , shortbread and drink upon arrival ? Stairs/Step in room 11 an issue !
Location: Very good location, I knew this as I am originally from Inverness. It is very convenient for river walks , Castle and the town shopping facilities.
We expected a large room and to be fair it was large enough but rather oddly laid out. The bathroom shower / was excellent but there was an awkward stair and worse a semi concealed step from the sleeping area to the entrance/bathroom. My wife pointed this out to the hotel manager who showed us to her room. I thought she was having a bit of a winge at the time, but during the night in the dark this "step" caught me out and I have changed my mind, I think this is possibly dangerous. Apparently only one room has a river view, ours looked straight into high wall no more than 3 feet way, which gave the room a bit of a dungeon feel. Positives, the Hotel is in a very good location, for walking to town. The food and service in Chez Rouz was flawless !

Pros: From the warm welcome upon arrival to the friendliness of the cleaners. The service was professional, relaxed, appeared effortless yet was unobtrusive
Cons: We are not a big fan of glass bathroom doors. Tree views over The Ness need to be trimmed.
Location: Easy to park. Ideal location for a quick walk around Inverness, a bit of shopping, the Castle and alongside the River Ness.
Take one grumpy, overworked and stressed middle aged Birthday boy, soak him in the relaxed ambiance and luxury of the Rocpool Reserve Hotel for 48 hours, feed him well (don't skip the cheese board) and observe an amazing transformation.

Luxury In The Middle Of The City!

Boutique luxury but cozy hotel with just 11 rooms and a professional, dedicated and wonderful staff that makes you feel like you are the only guests present! Beautifully appointed and spacious rooms with every amenity and within walking distance of downtown Inverness, plus free parking if needed. The on site restaurant Chez Roux is one of the finest in Inverness but staff will also help recommend others as well. Offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service with a full bar as well. We had an issue over a lost cell phone and staff spent hours with us helping to retrieve the phone! Would highly recommend.

Pros: Staff were great - quiet setting - easy to walk to town - food was great
Cons: we had a little trouble with the air conditioning...surprised that given the level of the hotel there were some areas that needed the paint touched up
Location: very close to shopping and restaurants
Staff made you feel welcome from the moment you arrived and throughout your stay. Nice quiet rooms - thought it was a bit expensive for what you got...

Great stay!

Pros: Location, parking, restaurants
Location: Culloden battle site, Clava cairns
We had a great two night stay in Room 6. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom has an excellent separate shower, as well as a nice fan as well to decrease humidity after showers – a rarity in Europe! The room also has its own air conditioning unit and internet repeater. The hotel offers great breakfasts, with really excellent croissants. We also had a great meal in the bar the first evening of our stay. It is a short and scenic walk into the main area of Inverness from the hotel. The hotel also has a nice sized parking lot. The only real “complaint” that we may have had is that the glass door insert on bathroom is unusual. It means that you have very little privacy, and can look out of the room’s main window while sitting on the toilet, even with the bathroom door closed!

Pleasant Surprise

Came to the Rocpool after a week in Edinburgh at a so-called 5 star luxury hotel. Our expectations were not high as the hotel in Edinburgh was so disappointing (reminded us of Eastern block hotels in the '90s). We were pleasantly surprised by the Rocpool. It is truly a luxury boutique hotel. We had a 'Chic' room, which was beautiful. The room was spacious enough, bed was very comfortable and had an assortment of pillows, great bathroom and shower, wonderful room service breakfasts with beautiful presentation. The staff recommended good local restaurants and arranged for a driver who took us around for a day to local sights and a whisky distillery for tour and tasting. Best food of our entire stay in Scotland was at the Rocpool Restaurant (no relation) along the River Loch. You won't be disappointed!

A relaxing break

Pros: Food was superb, bed was comfortable, facilities were excellent and it was only a short walk from the city centre.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Location: City centre is only a short walk away (5 mins). We also visited Lossie Beach (1 hour drive) and Loch Ness.
I booked the hotel after reading good reviews and I have to say, they were most certainly merited. The room was very clean and had a homely but modern decor. The bed itself was extremely comfortable and the bathroom with four piece suite, including a massive, double, walk-in shower was fantastic. One evening, we decided to dine in the hotel and we were most certainly not disappointed. The sea bream was particularly good. However, despite the facilities being outstanding, the service was even better. There was always someone there to greet you when you entered the building and conversation was very natural. It did not feel at all forced and you felt that there was a genuine interest in the customer. I'd most certainly recommend the hotel to others. I expected it to be good but it was even better than I had anticipated.

Very comfortable hotel and great food

The rooms were very comfortable and clean, spa-like almost. The restaurant had very good food and presentation. A short walk down the hill to the town/River. The only negative was that my late request for 2 beds to accommodate a traveling companion was not accommodated the first night OR, less understandably, the last night - over a week later. There were several "miscommunications" with the staff.
