Home away from home

Posted Jan 5, 2018
We stayed here for nine nights during the year end holidays. It was hands down the most intimate and cozy hotel we’ve ever experienced. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. No request is ever turned down. Special mention must be made of Karin, Godfrey and Coco (the most adorable little pup). They just elevated our trip to another level. The owners, John and Anthony are super fun and friendly. You’re probably not going to get this level of service anywhere else (especially during peak season). Super friendly staff, lovely vibe, large and clean rooms, exceptional service, a quiet and safe neighbourhood. What more do you need? Rent their convertible and drive along the cape peninsula, boulders beach and chapman’s peak. You won’t regret it. If you’re in Cape Town make sure you dine at La Colombe (Constantia), La Mouette (Sea Point), Willougby (Waterfront) and Burrata (old biscuit mill). Go to Cafe Caprice for a drink or five. The hotel is close (5-10 mins Uber) to Camps Bay, Clifton beaches and the Waterfront. I know we’re going to come back to Cape Town (we didn’t get a chance to cage dive with the white sharks and go to The Test Kitchen) and we’ll definitely stay at the Blackheath again. :)

Great Boutique hotel

Posted Dec 23, 2017
Pros: Décor, friendly staff, layout and great breakfasts.
Stylish décor with friendly staff that go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and special. This is the 2nd time we have visited this hotel and they did not fail to impress again. From the moment you arrive, you relax and enjoy the friendly ambiance. Great breakfasts, superb pool area and excellent recommendations for dinner. Well done Blackheath - you made our stay in Cape Town perfect.

Thank you all for looking after us so well, the Hotel was excellent, the location very good, but the staff and the service was second to none, we would not have any hesitation to recommend you all and would certainly stay with you again when we return to Cape Town.

The perfect spot in Cape Town

Posted Dec 13, 2017
I booked this hotel on a whim on Expedia and having never stayed in a boutique hotel before I was a little nervous. However hand on heart it is one of the best places I have stayed. The room was comfortable and had many small touches - mobile phone with pre loaded numbers to take out, iPad for use in room, toiletries to name some. The whole building is like staying in someones home who has great taste. There are tea, coffee and snacks on tap, a candy stall and even free drinks by the pool if you time it right. There are lots of living room like areas to sit in if you want a change from your room and the pool area is lovely (although the water very cold!). By far the best thing about the hotel is the staff. You are made to feel very welcome and nothing seems too much trouble. A special mention to Poppy who went out of her way to help us and the lovely night staff who didn't mind our drunken banter. The area felt safe and it was a superb location for us - half way between the beautiful Camp Bay and the rugby stadium. I visited a few other hotels where friends were staying whilst I was in Cape Town and none of them were better than ours. I'm already planning my return trip!

Great position for exploring Cape Town

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Pros: Location. Pool. Breakfast. Bar. Afternoon tea and cake.
Location: Very centrally located in CT near to lots of main attractions
Well positioned hotel for exploring Cape Town as you can walk to the V&A, Sea Point and other areas. Clifton and Camps Bay easy taxi ride away. Small hotel but good sized rooms in 4 different buildings surrounding a pool with super comfy loungers! Breakfast great and includes cereals, pastries, fruit, smoothies, yoghurt etc. Also to order they do anything you want including amazing pancakes. They provide free tea and coffee station all day with a cake of the day which was greatly appreciated! Fully stocked reasonable bar which we made use of in the evenings pre dinner. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room had a super king size very comfy bed and tv with dvd player and huge collection of dvds. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to CT.

It felt like home.

Posted Sep 25, 2017
Pros: It is a welcome antidote to standard hotels.
Cons: Naothing-it has it's own personality and should stay that way.
Location: It's in Sea Point one of the safer areas of the city. You can walk to shops, the ocean and get a feel of what it would be like to live in Cape Town.
Great location with an easy walk down to the sea. Pretty rooms that are comfortable and well appointed. Cozy bar with home made cakes and Sherry anytime of the day or night. Helpful and friendly staff. But most importantly a soulful eyed Jack Russell named CoCo, who will greet you after a long day.

A fabulous place to stay

Posted Aug 20, 2017 on Hotels
We had an amazing stay at Blackheath Lodge. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. They arranged a day your for us and pointed us in the right direction when heading out on our own. We felt very safe here and the neighborhood was good. The room was very beautiful and had all the amenities one needs. The full breakfast and evening snacks were delicious. Everyone helped make us feel extremely comfortable.

This is the one..... Don't look anywhere else.

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Pros: Everything... especially the staff.
Cons: Nothing...Please keep it the same for next year...
Location: Location, is excellent if you can walk... If not hire a taxi they are cheap enough.
We loved this Hotel. The staff were incredible they couldn't do enough for us they really looked after us and made our stay a great one. The Hotel itself is not big but the rooms are a good size. It's very quaint with lots of little spots to hide and find solace if you wanted too which we loved. Most hotels are big, sterile, blank canvases but this was somehow soft, gentle, cosy, and had a homely feel to it. The breakfasts were excellent and the evening meals that we had were very good and wholesome. The rooms were kept well, warm and clean, bed and bathroom were great. Location, 3 -minute walk from local shops, 7- minutes’ walk from sea front and Park and 25 minute walk “along the sea front” to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront “tourist centre” which has everything that you want. Added extra, Sunbirds in the garden all day....
