Excellent Location for walking to sites of the cit

Location made the stay so nice. While the neighborhood seems a bit shabby, walking everywhere was great. Being close to Healthcare facilities, provided local color that wasn't expected.

Beautiful, close to downtown Seattle, very clean

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: Everything. I love architecture so I'd have to say the building itself the art in the bedroom, and I loved the bathroom. Great natural sunlight
Cons: Nothing. It's such a well kept hotel
Location: Corner Cafe right across the street is great for breakfast. Capital Hill is very closeted and it has great restaurants and bars that are more local.
Staying at Hotel Sorrento made my trip even better. It's a boutique hotel that has so much history. The room was beautifully kept, very clean, and the bed was so comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's extremely close to downtown Seattle but on a quieter road. Very close to the highway as well so if you need to leave you won't be stuck in downtown traffic. The corner cafe right in front of it has the best omlets I've ever tried. All in all, it was a great experience. Next time I'm in Seattle I'm definitely staying there again

Nice dining, stay somewhere else.

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Great dining experience, but room was really small, not the king size bed I called ahead to be sure we'd have, peeling paint, dead spider in the bathroom along with what appeared to be an exploded soda on the wall. Old charm, but not worth the price tag.

Not exceptional - except for the cost

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Room service was amazing - cheerful and quick.
Cons: Front desk could be more professional - there is a sense of shabbiness about the place that is disappointing.
Location: Located near VM hospital - lovely little coffee shop across the street - a few blocks up the hill from Seattle shopping.
I had warm feelings for this lovely hotel built in the 1920s - when I was a trainee at a nearby hospital in the early 80's we would stop at the famous "Hunt Club" restaurant on its premises and have Irish coffees on Friday after work. I had heard it was renovated, so when I was asked to speak at the same local hospital, I booked an extremely expensive room and looked forward to my stay. Unfortunately, as with many fond old memories, the present did not meet the expectations generated by the past. The front desk personnel were somewhat disorganized and brusque, the room was very small and crowded and the bathroom was tiny. Literally I had to turn my hand sideways to reach the flush handle - there was no room between it and the wall. On the plus side, room service was fast and my eggs benedict were superb. The in room coffee was a French press (the Boden water kettle was non-functional, but the lovely folks from housekeeping brought me a new one quickly) - but they had packets of non-dairy coffee creamer rather than half and half. Perhaps that last statement sums up the disparity between what could have been and what was -- disappointing, especially at the price!

Historic Property

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Cons: Public transportation access
Location: If you are doing things downtown or near the wharf it is a bit of a hike up and down hills so you must be in decent physical shape.
The hotel was nice if you like historic properties, nearly 100 years old.

Old Hotel with History Needs more Updates

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Nice old place, but needs more updates. Floors creak when walking around room, rugs smell old, carpets need updating. History and tradition are great, but this place didn't work for us!

Good hotel.. Great small boutique style for mini vacations..!! Only negative is that there is no parking and u got to pay for the valet.. But still overall, great hotel.. The beds are super comfy and rooms are vintage yet modern and well maintained.!!!

Close to perfect.

There maybe better, more expensive places to stay for my taste, but I haven't found them yet.
