Close to the lake and downtown

Posted Sep 11, 2016
Pros: Location, definitely.
Cons: Maybe a slightly lower price, or more features included for the price (breakfast, for instance).
Location: Very close to Lake Union. If the weather is nice, 100-Pound Clam is an excellent place to eat right on the water.
We were in Seattle to attend a wedding, and we decided to arrive a few days early to enjoy the city. The Courtyard was a good hotel for this purpose: close to the lake (which was lovely while we were there - in August), fairly close to downtown and the Pike Place Market (about a 15-20 minute walk), and close to the wedding venue just outside of downtown (a short Uber ride). The hotel itself was a fairly standard Courtyard: the room was comfortable, though a little small. It seemed a little pricey, but given the location and Seattle hotel pricing, the rate was probably fairly standard. We paid extra for the "lake view," but the view barely qualified as such - we could only kind of see the lake from our room.

Nice view but overpriced

Posted Sep 5, 2016
We paid extra for the lake view, but for $400 a night I would expect way more! The bed was ridiculously hard and its the same mattresses used in Comfort Inns and such. I work for a mattress company and I can tell you, these are far from the top of the line! Nothing spectacular about this place at all- had to pay for the bottles of water in the room, room size was no different than any standard hotel room and you have to pay to park there. Staff was nice and food was fine, but again - way overpriced!

Great location right across from the lake and very handy if flying over from Victoria, B.C. as the terminal for the seaplane is right across the street. Also very handy to walk into downtown Seattle.

Great hotel and wonderful location!

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Pros: location, condition, amenities, staff
Cons: no complaints from me
Location: walkable, with lake activities and restaurants close by; even a museum within walking distance
enjoyed the stay, including the location, condition of the hotel and facilities, staff, and services; fairly expensive, but seems to be in line with the rates charged elsewhere in Seattle. would definitely stay there again.

End of a great trip

Posted Jul 18, 2016
I took my wife on a 12-day trip through Victoria Vancouver and Seattle. Unfortunately the worst View was saved for last and all we had for a view out of my window was dirty laundry from the apartment building next door. I requested to have water View but was denied upon arrival. I called 4 days before arrival and was sure to Waterview would be available. Very disappointed but the staff was fantastic if you don't want to be in the middle of Seattle it's a good place. 10 minute walking distance from the Space Needle which was very welcome.
