Nice facilities; painfully overpriced "restaurant"

I've stayed at this hotel a few times, most recently on a sold-out night during a large science fiction convention. Although the hotel must have known they would be sold out weeks if not months in advance, they were understaffed. My room wasn't ready until after 5 pm, because the cleaning staff was behind, and check-in desk was sometimes staffed by only one person in spite of a very long line forming. The next day, on checkout, I put my bag into storage for a few hours. When I went to retrieve it, there was no one at the concierge table, and I had to hunt down someone to get it for me--a person who seemed unhappy to be interrupted in his other duties. Most of the staff was pleasant, however. I'm sure on a less full day they would operate a bit better.
The meeting areas of the hotel were dated in decor but ample and well laid out, with restroom facilities scattered at comfortable intervals. I did notice wheelchair access on the meeting floor was not well thought through, however.
My room in the main tower was nicely appointed, and the climate control worked well and quietly.
My main complaint is about the bar and restaurant. It was understaffed, loud, and extremely overpriced. A meal consisting of a small salad with apple and walnuts, a cup of clam chowder, and a mixed drink was $40 with tip--though I think I was brought their "large" salad by mistake, the large was small enough that I didn't suspect it until the bill came! A beer was $8.
