Great Downtown Seattle hotel for walkers
Posted Oct 2, 2016
The Olive 8 in Seattle was wonderful. It is a beautiful hotel that is ideally located near all the main attractions and settings within a mile or less. I am talking about the Space Needle, Chahuly Glass Museaum, EMP Museaum, The Aquarium, Pikes Place Market, the Giant Ferris Wheel, Capital Hill, Pioneer Square, The Public Library!! Not to mention there are literally hundreds of great restaurants and bars Around every corner. It is a walkers dream city, with things to do and places to go concentrated within a few square miles. If you are feeling active, you can take a stroll to the International District or engage in water activities at Union Lake, or take in a sporting event at Safeco/ Century Link Field. These areas are less than 2 miles from the hotel! If you want to travel out or don't feel like walking and hiking the entire time (Seattle has several super steep streets), Uber, Lyft and public transportation is readily available. We Ubered to Ballard Heights and loved that part of town! I would liken it to what Brooklyn is to Manhatten. So if you're active and want a centrally located hotel, this place is for you. Also, do yourself a favor and do the Bill Speidels Undeground City Tour by Pioneer Square and have a drink at the Edgewater Hotel.
