MY HOME IN SEATTLE
Posted Oct 12, 2016
I took advantage of an unheard of airfare, no one wanted to join me. I poured through reviews of Seattle hotels, I'd never been there. Decided the Paramount seemed safe, location seemed good and the price was good. All this is a gross understatement!!! The Paramount was great, safe, location was fantastic and for where it was, the price was great!
I looked forward to getting out and walking every morning and I rarely walk at home, I get in a car. I walked to the Pike Market for lunch everyday, then chose a street to explore and found shopping, restaurants, public transport were all close to the Paramount. I ate at the hotels' Asian restaurant my first night and could not bring myself to eat anywhere else-every evening was happy hour, they had small plates starting at $1.95 and drinks starting at $3.95.
I always have a problem with mattresses and pillows, but the mattress was great, I had to psych myself out of bed, "if you get up now, and get out, there may not be a line for that clam chowder".
I took the monorail to the Needle; then one day I must have walked seven blocks and I was almost there.
Everything about the Paramount was great. When I stepped off the elevator, there was a cabinet-if you wanted ice, lift up a door and grab a bag-so no searching for an ice machine, hiding behind a heavy door, maybe on another floor!
Free coffee in the lobby-but pay for Starbucks, they are everywhere. Water and apples in the lobby and nice sitting area.
