Beautiful Hotel right on the beach

Hotel and the amenities are fabulous! The attention to detail with everything is amazing. Staff are so lovely and helpful. We felt incredibly safe. Food is abundant and well presented. Couldn't rate it highly enough.

Hotel perfectly located in Seminyak

Pros: the tranquility, kindness
Cons: nothing just perfect!
Location: A walk to Seminyak square and surrounding stores of which I adore.
The most amazing stay, just perfect in every way!! I am so blessed to be able to be a guest at this hotel, it is ALL my dreams come true:))

Beautiful hotel on the beach

Wonderful oasis in busy Bali. The room was spacious and well-appointed. The balcony overlooking the grassy lawn and booming surf beyond was a pleasant place to relax day or evening. The staff was attentive and friendly, and it was a nice touch to have free drinks and snacks. We got cake and champagne for our anniversary. The breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day, and dinner in the evening at the poolside restaurant was delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Inefficient

The hotel is a nice one, but for all the hype about this hotel, it really could be better. Here are thee three things that caught my eye: 1) Inefficient check-in. I came alone after a 20-hour ordeal through airports. I just wanted to get to the front desk, get a key and go to my room. However, the staff made me wait at a desk in a non-airconditioned space (because, as they explained, they do not have a "front desk"). It seems that they thought that I would appreciate this approach, but I really did not. Waiting in heat and sweating was not comfortable. 2) The credit card deposit policy is strange. As usual, the hotel wants to see a credit card as a security deposit. However, unlike other hotels, they actually required you to swipe the card and punch in a pin (other hotels do not do that, and I have stayed at many high-end ones). This was strange to me. I refused, but then had to give $100 in cash as a security deposit. They should fix this policy and bring it to date. 3) The rooms have no key cards. The key is an old-fashioned metal key. So, you cannot have two people have two keys. You have to leave the key at the front desk every time you leave the room. Come on, tis is not the 1950s. IT is very inconvenient if you have a party of more than one. So, for all the hype, this really was not a great hotel. It has ben a while since I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Bali, or Four Seasons (both were in Jimbaran), but they were much better organized.

Book a villa if you can

Our stay at the Legian was remarkable. To be fair, I have stayed at multiple 5 star rated resorts in the US and Caribbean and our experience here blew the others away. We actually ended up extending our stay by another two nights because we didn't want to leave. If you are able, I absolutely recommend staying in one of the private villas. Our butler Sande was just incredible, able to help with restaurant recommendations, booking dinner, tours, really anything we needed at all. The private pool was quite serene. There was also included minibar amenities (complimentary vodka, gin, whiskey, soft drinks, water, tonic, etc) which were not included in the other hotel I stayed at in Ubud for the same cost. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Very nice hotel. Great location

It was my first time in Bali and I had stayed here for 12 nights. The location was perfect. Away from the busyness of Seminyak. The hotel facilities were good. The staff were excellent, very polite & helpful and dealt with your needs. It was a great place for me to unwind and relax. The pool next to the beach was awesome. The food was nice. Nightlife was just around the corner. So everything was in walking distance. The only slight negative thing for me was at night you could hear the ocean waves from your room which I suppose is good but if you are a light sleeper like me. Then it does become a bit annoying. Solution was earplugs. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel, I will definitely be back there again. Thank you for a nice time.

Luxury Hotel... Secluded... Excellent service!

My friends and I stayed four days from Dec 5-8. From the point we arrived we were treated like royalty. We had a 2 bedroom suite and a studio room. They were both excellent. Great views from the room. Property is very personable. They know you by name. The triple infinity pool is great. You do not have to hustle for any beach chairs. The pool service is on point... the passion martinis are good. The breakfast in the morning which was included was also very good. It is better than most restaurants outside. We also had dinner there one night and the food was excellent. The location of the hotel is close to all the shopping in Seminyak... about a half mile walk. The Legian is awesome hotel. Close to all the tourist action outside... but serene and secluded with luxury once you are on the property. You get the best of both worlds... It is well worth the price. Once you stay here, you might not want to ever stay anywhere else in Bali.
