Nice oceanfront hotel

Posted Dec 10, 2017
Pros: Oceanfront--and conveniently located.
Location: 1 thing not to miss is the bioluminescence tour. However, be sure to get into the water with a snorkel where the luminescence really comes alive.
Grand Cayman is a beautiful, clean and prosperous island. First time there and we loved it!

Dear Guest, thanks for your review. We believe that our Beach House is such a beautiful and versatile space where people can reconnect with loved ones, sit and relax with a good book as well as choose from a number of delicious culinary options designed for every palate. We hope that you were able to spend time in our intimate cabanas at Anchor & Den – they are such a fun place to sit and people-watch over some fantastic food and cocktails. Beautiful Hotel, $$, Beach/Water Not As Expected

Posted Dec 7, 2017
Cons: Communication with regards to the water & beach
Location: Raggazzi - amazing Italian Restaurant
We stayed at the Mariott Grand Caymans from Nov 24 - Dec 1st for our honeymoon. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, very professional. Everything was EXTREMELY expensive. We were not told about the $50US resort fee that was mandatory until after we had booked. This was frustrating as we were already paying a higher amount to stay at the Marriott but thought since it's beachfront it will be okay. Once we arrived, there were zero beach chairs on the beach, and the water was so rough. We can understand that Hurricane Irma did a toll on the weather, beach and water but NOTHING was said. As mentioned before we paid more $$ to stay at the Marriott rather than a few other hotels that were beach front. With the location of the Marriott, there is already limited amount of space due to the way the pool, restaurant layout is. The beach was full of rocks and it was a huge task getting in the water in time. Once in the water is beautiful and so warm! Since Mariott is at the beginning of Seven Mile Beach, there were MANY beachfront hotels that had much better front area. This was all really disappointing especially on our honeymoon. By the end of the week there were 2 rows of chairs on the beach but still considering what we paid, and all the extras that were mandatory not totally happy with our decision to stay here.

Dear Caroline, thanks for your detailed review. We are delighted that you enjoyed celebrating your honeymoon at our Beach House. I think romance can be found everywhere at our Beach House. Were you able to dine at our oceanfront restaurant Veranda? It is such a beautiful place to share a meal with a loved one. There are only a handful places along Seven Mile where you can enjoy a unique culinary experience directly on the beach with uninterrupted views of the gorgeous Caribbean Sea from your table. Thank you for choosing Marriott and we hope to welcome you back again very soon. Best regards, John Hazard, General Manager

AMAZING STAFF!! Great Modern looking hotel

Posted Dec 5, 2017
Pros: The staff and the modern look of the hotel
Cons: The gelato was SUPER TINY
My family and I had an amazing time at the Marriott in Grand Cayman. The staff there were so friendly! Carlos and his staff served us amazing breakfast and provided a great fun and safe environment for us. We had a few awesome servers Priya, Gede, Ruth, and Mayank. I would definitely recommend going there. In the towel tent, Beth was super sweet and kind. Gave us turtle food so we can feed the turtles there. Gave us fresh towels and was just overall super sweet.

Dear Tina, thanks for your review. We appreciate your kind comments about our friendly staff, modern look and delicious food. I think we have the best staff in Cayman – they are the most professional, friendliest and kindest people. Our team approaches their jobs differently than other hotels. We go into work each day thinking from a guest’s perspective and we base our decisions on what we think will make their vacation experience with us unique and memorable. We always encourage our guests to assist us in defining a successful vacation – whether that be informing us of a special occasion being celebrated or telling us that their aim is to reconnect with their family. Thanks for choosing Marriott and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Best regards, John Hazard, General Manager

Dear Guest, thanks for your review. As you know, our Beach House is conveniently located on Seven Mile Beach with its proximity to Camana Bay and Georgetown as well as numerous restaurants, bars and shopping centers being a stone’s throw away. Did you have the chance to take advantage of our complimentary Linus bike rentals, included in the Resort Fee? They are a fantastic way to explore the island like a local. Thanks for choosing Marriott and we hope to see you again soon. Best regards, John Hazard, General Manager

Dear MB, thanks for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your kind words about our great staff and good food. With regards to your comments about our beach, unfortunately Seven Mile Beach on the whole has experienced a degree of erosion due to recent hurricanes. We are not the only property to be affected by this issue. We understand that this can be detrimental to our guests’ vacation experience and for that we would like to extend our deepest apologies. Extremely expensive for a crowded hotel

Posted Nov 30, 2017
Beach is almost nonexistent 1 night and almost $1000 in multiple fees that are beyond anything I have seen before. Staff is great. Rooms are comfortable

Nice hotel in the middle of seven mile beach

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Quiet, middle of seven mile beach. Downside was that there wasn’t much beach since the hurricanes this past fall and very rocky on the beach which made it very difficult getting in and out. Hotel staff were very friendly and always right there when you needed them. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Recommend dining in and out of the hotel to have an experience of the island as well.

Nice and convenient hotel

Posted Nov 12, 2017
Pros: Staff, variety of events
Cons: Beach
We have stayed at this property a couple of times. Always something exciting going on and they have a lot to offer. Only downside is that the recent storms had wiped out most of the beach. Hope it is restored soon.
