Beautiful long beach.

Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Amenities. Great Staff. Quick access to the 7 mile beach.
Location: The island feels very safe in general. We did the helicopter tour, waverunning, snorkeling, island tour and walked the beach for miles every day.
This fabulous hotel sits very close to the beach and offers unobstructed views of the ocean and sand. We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us a drink and promptly took us to the room Brando was full of great information and personally arranged an island tour for us with a local taxi. He even gave us bottles of water and a towel for our trip. We occasionally ate lunch at the hotel restaurant, Veranda, where our server Allwyn provided exceptional service. Their blackened Mahi Mahi spinach wrap is delicious and you won't find better fruit. The staff at the Marriott seemed to be very happy working there and were always helpful. Overall Grand Cayman is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's not a cheap vacation, but you'll leave happy and have fond memories.

happy staff, happy guests

Pros: the location was perfect, on the beach but not too far from town.
Location: the hotel was on a bus line to downtown and all other areas you might want to visit.
The staff in this hotel go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are all outgoing and friendly, ask if they can do anything more for you and stay out of your way at other times. I have been in many hotels and this staff is just super. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable.

Cayman Resort

Excellent hotel facilities and very attentive staff. Only drawback is beach is somewhat small. The water and view are beautiful though. Beach service was exceptional.

The hotel is excellent because of its location on a nice beach with a reef for snorkeling. The food is excellent . The lobby bar is quite large and they have excellent drinks. The location on 7 mile Beach is very close to several restaurants that you can walk to. The only annoying thing that I encountered the entire week was the entire first two rows of beach chairs on the beach would be occupied by 7 AM by towels however no people appeared in these chairs until 9 AM .

Service charge

Pros: Nice beach. good restaurants.
Location: just stayed around the beach area.
Surprised to have to pay a $50 a day service charge at check in. The $50 was for facilities that we didn't use - spa, floats, etc.

Pros: Convenience, staff, and great view from room.
Cons: Rooms need some updating. Piped in music.
Location: Very convenient. Could walk to Caymana and other restaurants and shops.
Pleasant hotel right on the beach. friendly, accommodating staff. Could walk to shopping and some local restaurants. One disappointment was constant pounding beat of piped in music. Would return.

Marriott prices, but not Marriott quality.

Pros: The beach is spectacular, and the snorkeling in front of the hotel is quite good. The staff is very attentive, and friendly.
Cons: The building is very tired. At that price level, nicer accommodation is expected (for example, the Marriott Cancun - similar price, much better).
Location: Walking the beach. The sting ray experience is a must.
While the staff were unfailing polite and helpful, we were disappointed in this Marriott experience. The building is old and tired, in need of upgrade. The beach is spectacular, but the chairs are jammed so close together that it is difficult to enjoy it. The pool is nice enough, but small with not enough chairs, and not enough umbrellas for the chairs that are there. Only one outdoor eating establishment, so that gets boring over the course of a week (and it was closed without explanation on one day). We had booked a king bed, but that was not accommodated - two doubles instead. The balcony was so small as to be unusable.

Little value in the resort fee

The $50USD resort fee in my opinion offers little value other than a lounger on the beach. They could at least throw in 2 bottles of water for the price. Also don’t get a room which has an inter-leading door. There is almost no sound barrier and you will hear your neighbors talking as if they are in your room. Otherwise hotel located on a beautiful beach and staff are excellent.

We feel that the value of all these services justify the cost of the Resort Fee. However, I am so sorry to hear that there were aspects of your stay that you felt warranted improvement.
