Great family vacation hotel

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The accommodations were clean and spacious. The pool and beach area were beautiful. All of the staff were professional, friendly and provided outstanding service. We had an exceptional trip with two teenage kids and hope we get to return to the Westin on seven mile beach someday soon!!

Great place to Stay

Pros: See above
Cons: Very little in my estimation. Possibly available excursion rides to George Town and other attractions.
Location: Relativly close to good Snorkeling at Cemetary Beach, about an hour walk.
Seems like about the right placing and has the best beach on seven mile beach. The staff was just great, the room was nice, facilities were very clean and well groomed with lots of attention to detail. Some grounds maintainence was underway, but I was happy to find a discount on our resort fee (this is October, they have to do it sometime and really no inconvenience as far as I’m concerned, I would stay at the Westin again.

Renovations are still going on at this hotel

I was told that the renovations were all complete before I booked my vacation. Unfortunately, that was not true. First, second, & Fifth floors are still being renovated. I paid for an ocean/pool front room on high floor. Ended up on the side of building and not on top floor because of renovations. Also, water was shut down in entire building for 2 days; could not shower or use toilet. Weather was horrible. Thunderstorms every day we were there. Sun came out for only 2 hours out of 8 days. I was told by taxi drivers that the weather is always like that.High humidity and heavy clouds all the time. Very disappointed. So glad to be home.

Our final phase of our resort transformation is implemented "one-wing-at-a-time" to minimize any impact it may have on guests, but we apologize for any inconvenience you endured. Nice hotel excellent beachfront

Hotel staff was nice rooms were clean and it was a nice experience but the very best part of that stay were at the bartenders they were very knowledgeable and entertaining they were the best bartenders that I've seen in the past 10 years.

Great staff support and beautiful beach and pool a

Pros: Have done a very nice renovation
Cons: However they took all of the bathtubs out of the king bedded rooms which makes no sense and the new sink configuration is highly impractical
enjoyed it and the new look in the public areas. Still under construction

Beautiful!

Pros: The grounds are gorgeous, the hotel clean and modern
Cons: Hot water in a.m.
Location: We took cabs to go elsewhere, very reasonable
The Westin was just beautiful! The grounds the rooms, the service, the drinks, the food all top notch. If there was a complaint, it would be that there is no hot water early in the morning. That's it. The service was a+++++++, every single person at that resort went over and above. Grand Cayman is an expensive stay but worth every penny. Can't wait to return.

Wonderful resort

Pros: Location and newly renovated
We had a wonderful stay at the Westin. The resort is newly renovated and the staff is so nice and helpful. Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas and the location is great. It is right in the middle of 7 mile beach.

Nice hotel. Very close to transportation and beach

Pros: The hotel is in excellent shape.
Cons: The attitude of some of the front desk staff.
Location: Perfect location on the seven mile beach, however the restaurants in the hotel were very expensive so we ate elsewhere including across the street.
The Westin hotel is in a very nice location on Grand Cayman and is in the process of renovations. The hotel décor is excellent, however I was not impressed with the service at the front-desk. We stayed there for eleven nights. Upon check in, the room that we were promised was not ready so we had to move to another room for one night. During our wait for the room, the gentleman who worked at the bar area was very kind to us and kept inquiring to see how we were doing because he sensed that we were agitated with our wait. He even offered us a drink while we were waiting. After finally settling in our room the second night, things began to go smoothly until the evening of the seventh night. Upon return from the beach, our room keys did not work. We went to the front desk and had to wait about fifteen minutes (there were a lot of people checking in at the time) before being attended to. The problem was corrected only after the person at the front desk sent one of the staff to accompany us to the room in order to verify our identities (which we did with our passports). What amazes me is that on the two occasions we ordered drinks on the beach, no identity verification was requested after giving the waiter our names and room number. I would hate to think that our ethnicity had anything to do with the request for verification of our identities after since we had been to the front desk several times to exchange currencies and obtain information.
