A great stay in the centre of the old city

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: The staff and lovely well presented rooms. It's located right in the centre of the old city but quiet after dark.
Cons: Didn't try the breakfast, the price put us off but there are great little cafes locally
Location: A few minutes walk took us into the main square and the Cathedral and cafe culture, all the main sites are a short walk away,
The lanes and streets of old Seville are narrow and winding so finding the hotel it's worth doing a bit of homework, this is not unique to the hotel but part of the cities charm. The staff were friendly and spoke English to help out my poor spainish. Lovely interior in the hotel and the free coffee and soft drinks bar was a bonus.

GREAT LOCATION-SOME ISSUES

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: coffee service in room or available all day in lobby, cleanliness , bathroom privacy
Location: right off of Plaza Nueva
The location of this hotel is excellent...right off the Plaza Nueva. The staff was also lovely. Check in was quick and courteous. There are some real issues though: 1- there is no free coffee service until 1pm. no coffee in the room. I never even considered to check this when booking a hotel in Spain...I have never experienced this before. 2- the bathroom is REALLY not private at all if you are sharing a room with anyone other than your beloved. we were three girls traveling together...we suffered through it. 3- the main lobby of the hotel was roped off with warning tape the two days we were there. it has a big glass ceiling above it. it was not raining...so not water leaking. somewhat disconcerting. 4- the cleanliness of the room was definitely not there. I wore white socks in the room and they were filthy from the floor. I feel a little bad...as I said..the location was fantastic and the staff was lovely, but these are things I would have liked to have known prior to booking.

Dear Kate, We appreciate your sincere feedback after your recent stay with us. We are pleased to check that you consider our staff and location very positive for you to enjoy the city. We have tea and coffee facilities for free in our superior rooms and after the breakfast (from 1pm till midnight) at the ground floor. In spain it is not usual to have coffee and tea facilities anywhere. Sorry for the inconveniences in the lobby. We were reparing the glass ceiling (maintenance works) and cleaning it after. For security reasons, we must rope the perimeter. We are VERY sorry aboout the cleanliness, it is a basic service for us and everybody. We are not perfect but we obviously have to take a hard look at where we failed. We look forward to welcoming you very soon again in Petit Palace Hotels within Spain as a second opportunity. We remain our apologies, Cordially Yours, Jose Luis Barroso Hotel Manager .

Nice hotel great location.

Posted Feb 19, 2017
Pros: Location. The comfy bed. Friendly staff.
Cons: Tea / Coffee facilities in the room , it is a 4 star hotel after all. Family rooms should be bigger, not just a double with a bunk bed.
Location: Everything is near by , the Real Alcazar, the Cathedral, barrion de santa cruz, las setas, el tore del oro, the river....
We booked into this hotel for a family break. We were pleased to find it so well located, near to everything there is to see and near to tram and taxi stops. We were greeted in a friendly way and all the staff were pleasant and well informed. The room on the first floor was well equipped and clean , with a massive t.v. We would have expected tea and coffee facilities in the room. This is available in a lounge area which is comfortable but a little impractical once the kids are asleep. It was on the small side for a family room. The only real downside was the air conditioning / heating. Despite being above 20C there was only the heating option available. This meant opening a full balcony door / window and leaving it open. This was very noisy at night. We really appreciated the complimentary valentines cava , card and heart. The room was kept clean and check out was simplicity itself.

Dear Malcom and Family, Thank you for sharing your experience with everybody. I am delighted the read that you had a wonderful stay with us as a result of out staff members, comfy beds and location. With this said, we are sorry that you were slightly let down from your stay due the the room size, and would like to point out that our hotel is an 19th-century palace, and therefore has very unique structural characteristics. The rooms are organised in a manner that respects the building's architecture. We are sorry to hear that the room you were assigned did not meet with your approval this time. About the central heating, the temperature during the night is 5º C, when everybody is sleeping, so in Winter we have 'heat mode'. During the day we can not change the system into 'cool mode', only one option is possible. We are placed to know that you enjoyed the cava ande details in St Valentine's day. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kindest regards, Jose Luis Barroso Hotel Manager

Comfortable hotel close to historic sights

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Pros: Hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel is close to restaurants, shops, and sites. The hotel has free bikes and free coffee, tea, and juice.
Cons: We couldn't use their free bikes because none fit my tallish husband. One bike was not in good working order.
Location: It is easy to find, very close to a major street. Many good restaurants and sight-seeing nearby.
We stayed at the hotel for five nights as part of a vacation to several Andalusia cities. My husband and I are both in our mid-60s and are not Spanish speakers. We had a wonderful time in Seville mainly because of this hotel.

Excellent Location and Great staff

Posted Feb 17, 2017
When researching hotel locations, we wanted to make sure it was close by to all the sites we wanted to visit. Hotel is within 5 min walking of Cathedral, Real Alcazar, the main road which is Constitution Ave(?) that has & connects to outlying streets with best restaurants and bars. Staff was very friendly and accommodating with requests. I was so jet lagged and missed dinner and nothing was open at 3am. Staff friendly enough to try to look for something to tide me over till places open. Bed was extremely comfortable! Slept so soundly; great pillows and soft but firm bed. The only issue I had was if the weather is off--room may be either too hot or cold. The thermostat only allows for heat or cool at any given time. It was a little warm in room since thermostat still set for warm. I left it off and just opened the window. No hesitation to recommend again if I know friends heading to Seville

The location and the staff are excellent, the room I had was too small for a family of 4 plus the price is too expensive for what they offer .i Won't come back next time. They are better hotels in Seville and a lot cheaper ,they even offer breakfast with the room, just keep looking.

The Petit Palace is a small, boutique hotel in a great location close to the Cathedral, Alcazar and every other historical site you might be interested in. The breakfast was very good, staff were great and overall our stay was very comfortable.
