Seville break

Posted Apr 28, 2017
Pros: Nice quiet location within the old part of the city. Helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: All was good as expected.
Location: Good location within walking distance of all the attractions. It took about 20 mins to walk to the south side of town to the Alacazar and cathedral.
A great few days in a wonderful city. If you want to avoid the queue at the Alcazar palace its worth booking in advance online as there is a separate entry point with little or no queue.

Hotel lacked facilities

Posted Apr 26, 2017
Pros: Breakfast buffet was good. Room was kept clean.
Cons: Kettle in room.
Location: Quiet, away from main sights save local church.
Not the experience we were expecting for a supposed 4 star rating. Despite sending an advance email requesting a quiet room, the room allocated overlooked the noisy inner courtyard area and immediately outside the room door and front window was a shared balcony with people sunbathing and talking just outside. We asked to be changed and were allocated a quiet room at the back but much smaller and no rebate given despite this. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Welcome drink was not volunteered on arrival, had to ask for this at the bar.

Cockroaches in the Room

Posted Apr 13, 2017
Pros: nothing
Cons: cleanliness, friendly staff, customer service
The hotel is not very clean, and on two different nights, I had to call the front desk regarding the cockroaches. It was to a point that I had lost my appetite and felt throwing up.

Quiet Location

Posted Apr 9, 2017
Pros: Location, Staff, Food, pool
Location: Walking distance of major attractions and lots to see very close by.
Lovely hotel in quiet part of Seville yet easily walkable to Cathedral etc. Very near buses and taxis for longer journeys. Quiet rooms with very good furnishings. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Menu is not extensive however very well priced and excellent quality, very good breakfast. Staff are wonderful, cheerful and extremely helpful. We had a lovely break. Although pool is unheated it was very refreshing and the roof terrace was an oasis.

Not 4-star

Posted Mar 29, 2017
Pros: Looked good on the outside.
Cons: Just downgrade the star rating.
Location: It's not close to any tourist destinations and it's not a very interesting neighborhood. No tapas nearby like the rest of Seville.
How does this have 4 stars?!? It's like an American road motel. It looks cute on the outside, but the interior is very spartan. All the hallways around the central courtyard and all the rooms are marble floored. So hard and noisy. You can hear everyone walking down the hall throughout the hotel. The rooms are small and not furnished much better than a Motel 6. There were windows in the bathroom that were open to the back stairwell. It didn't feel very private or secure. I wouldn't have minded this hotel if it were 2 or 3 stars, but 4 stars was setting an expectation it couldn't meet. It wasn't an especially good location either.

A nice and well-positioned paradise

Posted Mar 28, 2017
Pros: It's super quite. From the moment you step in the only thing you will hear is the sound of water and the tweeting of birds.
Cons: Seville is warm for most of the year. Swimming pool should be open even out of summer season.
Location: In a 2-min-walk-range area there are hundred of place where to eat nice Spanish food. The town centre is 10 min walking.
From the entrance you think is a standard but nice hotel. But you are wrong. The "Welcome" drink gives you a bit of the taste of what expects you as soon as you open the door to the atrium. A Roman/Arabic space with orange trees, fountains, birds tweeting and sofas everywhere - the atrium - will be the first and last thing you'll see while staying in Seville San Gil. And you'll never have enough of it. The hotel is in the area called Macarena, full of nice local cervecerias, markets and 5-10 min walking from everywhere and everything.

Nice place in the centre of Seville

Posted Mar 27, 2017
Cons: Noise in the patio early morning. Our windows was located above the patio and we have experienced loud voices from 6 am.
Nice place. Located in historical centre of Seville. 10 minutes to walk to the greatest restaurants and tapas bars. ~20 minutes to walk to the Cathedral. Perfect breakfast.

San gil is on the out skirts of the city,so ok if you don't mind 20 min walk to main attractions, although its nice to see parts of spain you wouldn't normally see, like tiny narrow streets and quirky buildings.
