Good hotel, close to historic district
Posted Aug 11, 2016
While the first impression about this hotel--after checking in--was less than we were hoping for given the issues that were immediately apparent, such as: AC not working, Cable signal not working, only one person at the front desk dealing with all the hotel tasks, and thus, it's the reason why I could not give it a perfect 5 stars in every category. Nonetheless, this very active sole worker front desk, fill-it-all efficient women proved she was more than qualified for that job after quickly and friendly taking care of ALL problems by moving us to another room in which everything was working perfectly. The 2nd room was not only bigger (apparently design for handicap guests in mind), but also much more attractive given it's high ceiling with original wood work that gave it a unique 18 century appeal. Also short of a 5-star rating has to be the fact that the hotel does not have an adjacent parking garage and we had to walk to the nearest parking facility on the other side of the park adjacent to the hotel and down the street. I guess that's not so bad considering parking in most old district European cities is quite a challenge anyway....
