Overall okay

Posted May 19, 2017
You pay what you get , for short stay , this hotel is okay . The hotel is close to some restaurants but not what it described close to the Bund or Nanjing road. If you want to go there still have to take the taxi . The room was small, and there was a customer cooking food on the hallway.

Nice location

Posted May 15, 2017
Nice hotel for the price. Located near the metro..line 1 and not too far from city center. Hotel room was small but clean and comfy. The toilet, however, didn't always flush and shower drain was too slow. Always flooded when taking a shower

Good for budgeting travelers in a decent location.

Lacks many basic amenities. However, the staff is helpful and they keep their rooms clean, although quite dated. Fairly close to the 1 line, which is very helpful.

Close to Shanghai Railway station

Posted Feb 8, 2017
5-10 mins walk from Shanghai railway station. Close to another Metro station also. Police station opposite. Quiet rooms, clean and spacious. Our heating was not working so they changed our room and it worked fine. Busy hotel. Overall pretty good.

Standard flop house for low-budget travelers

Posted Jan 13, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Cheap, close to the main Shanghai Railway. Working A/C & heater, free bottled water, free tea.
Location: Nice open-air market a block away (on Zhonghuaxin Rd, near the intersection of Datong Rd). Great for produce, bakery items, fish, and dried meats.
I stayed here a few times while in Shanghai. It's your typical place to sleep at the end of the night for low budget-travelers who don't intend to spend too much time in their rooms. The rooms are okay for cleanliness, but it's obvious they don't do a deep cleaning too often (toothpicks and other litter from past guests in between the bed and the wall, a thick layer of dust on the window sill and other areas that aren't the floor). I wouldn't exactly walk around barefoot or lay on the bed without clothes on. Some nights my bed sheets had cigarette burn holes in them from past guests. Location is city-accessible. You're a 5 minute walk to Shanghai Railway, so you've got 3 major subway lines that intersect there plus all the long-distance trains to take you to where you want to be. The staff is mixed. Front desk staff are a bit surly to foreigners, but housekeeping are the sweetest.

Excellent value for money, next to the station

The hotel was fine for a quick, cheap stay in Shanghai. Also, the hotel is a short walk away from Shanghai Railway Station, which is great if you're visiting Shanghai by train. The room was not the cleanest of all and pretty much needed to be refurnished at some point, but overall it was a great and cozy stay. For the price, you can't beat the value of this hotel. :-)
