Nice hotel close to main shopping areas

Posted Mar 16, 2017
Cute hotel very well located near Shopping areas like Nanjing Road. A lot of small restaurants closeby. A few minutes walk to metro station and staffs were friendly. I left my ipad in the room after checkout and they send my ipad to my hotel in Beijing

Comfortable quiet room. 15 minutes walk from the Bund and People's square. 10 minutes walk from Nanjing road. Staff spoke very little English but tried to be somewhat helpful.

Excellent Value - I expect this hotel sold out

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: The Value - Rooms were not huge but well layed out. 5-7 minutes walk to two subway stations. Interesting area gave taste of old ( safe )Shang Hai
Cons: Front desk Staff english speaking. Guest policy should be explained as front desk stopped by Son's Chinese Girl friend from accompanying us to room.
Location: Musuems, Gardens shopping all walk-able or very short/cheap taxi 1-2 subway stops.
Clean rooms, Excellent house keeping, Comfortable and inviting lobby / Cafe for meeting friends. Lack of swimming pool or other full facilities not needed as Shang Hai walking is enough!

Clean and comfortable

Posted Feb 20, 2017
I had a day and half layover in Shanghai and was looking for a place that seemed clean, not too pricey and easily accessible. The Campanile Shanghai fit all my wants and needs actually. Although I did notice that the address provided by the web browser is different than the one provided by the Expedia app! I've attached a picture providing it's correct location! It's on the corner of Fujian Rd and East Ninghai Rd. The receptionist spoke English making it communication easy. My room was quite clean. Small but perfect because it had everything I needed. Free wi-if was provided as well. The only thing that bothered my a little bit was the temperature of the room. It wasn't too big of a deal but it was quite cold. I am aware that Shanghai is cold this time of year in early February. I turned the heat up before heading to bed but it hadn't made much difference when I woke up the next morning. I turned it up to 28 degrees Celsius, but it only moved from 19 the night before to 23 by the next morning. Everything else about my stay was just right! Oh, and I took the metro from Pudong Airport to East Nanjing Rd. and walked about 15 mins to get the the hotel. Very accessible!

French flavoured value stay in Shanghai

Posted Dec 20, 2016 on Hotels
The staff were lovely and caring. The French/European breakfast was very good. Perhaps a couple more options like grilled tomatoes and mushrooms would have been an extra bonus. The bar was well stocked, but they need tonic to go with the gin :-). The location provided an interesting walk to the Bund and an easy walk to East Nanjing Road/station. Highly recommend taking the Maglev from Pudong airport. This hotel was value for money and professionally managed, clean and tidy. The only thing that confused us was being asked to pay more than Hotel.com wrote on their confirmation we would be charged when we arrived at the hotel. The hotel explained that this is common practise in Shanghai.

Dear customer, Thank you very much for staying at Campanile Shanghai! We'll bring your comments up to our HOD meeting for sure to improve ourselves! The only thing you concern about it the deposit, in China, we used to take some money more than you should pay when you checking in the hotel! Don't worry, when you check out, the rest part will be returned!

A European touch near the Bund

Posted Dec 6, 2016
Location: It's a 10 minute walk to the Nanchang shopping street and the Bund. Two subway stops within a 10 min. Walk.
Located on a quiet street, this hotel offers comfortable, modern rooms with excellent Wifi at an affordable rate. The cafe downstairs offers a delightful mix of Chinese and French foods. We'd definitely stay there again.
