Pleasant stay
The hotel is under renovation. The staff can be accommodating but some do not take the time to assist the English speakers. no wifi. We were on the 25th floor.Overlooking the bund. Nice room but needs updating. Carpet is still filthy but does not smell awful. Comfort room is clean and service is ok when they understand you. If not...they just won't lift a finger. Funny but when the fuse got busted I reported it at once. Service came quick but a plumber was sent instead. It was good he called the electrician for us. Hotel is walking distance to the bund, the malls and Starbucks. Breakfast in hotel is reasonable but menu is always the same.

Good Hotel If!
Need to do something about the carpet, its really nasty. Also the hotel management needs to get rid of the hookers in the lobby. I was asked each night as i returned for the day if I needed a massage in my room by ladies waiting in the lobby, while some may think of this as added services, i was in the market for this type of service. I did complain to the hotel's front desk, and saw the guy have a word with the lady, however next evening upon my return, there she was and was silly enough to approach me again. Hmmm! smells like a kick back is changing hands with the guys on the reception desk. Don't bother with the breakfast, it was miserable and not so clean. Shame about the couple of down sides as the hotel has the potential to be good, based on size of the room and the location.

Checked in and I knew there was trouble Youg kid Bell man sitting down chatting did not even notice I walked in. Front desk could not find my reservation at first and they were rude about it. Bathroom had no mirror for shaving, rediculous! Called 3 times to housekeeping for shampoo. Lady came up and asked what I wanted! I'll never go back ever! Horrible service. Stay away!

No the same hotel from my last visit - gone down!!
I have stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed!! The things that made it enjoyable for me previously are now gone - Rooftop Bar, Swimming Pool and the nice lobby Bar/Cafe!! Front Desk NOT friendly................. Bellman and room service people very nice!!!!

Great Price .... Not So Great Place
I booked this hotel for a 2-day stop over in Shanghai on my way back to US after 3 weeks in China. I booked mainly on price and I believed I had stayed in the hotel several years ago, but after arriving, I knew it was not the same hotel. The hotel is rated at 4 stars, but I 've stayed in MANY 3-Star Chinese hotels that far exceed the quality of this one. First the place was "dirty".. carpets in my room had so much dirt and stains that I was almost afraid to remove my shoes.. even to use slippers (provided). Nothing in the bathroom worked, sink and tub drain was clogged, toilet pull mechanism was broken.. shower faucet was erratic. Oh well.. I heard, you get what you pay for.. NEVER AGAIN..
