Pros: Nothing
Cons: Cleanliness of all areas, especially the room. More awareness of the local area and understanding of the need to help visitors accordingly
Location: Quite a walk to the shopping malls with food outlets, however, a good selection of local food across the main road opposite the hotel
Not a clean environment or room. Poor breakfast selection, more akin to a canteen rather than hotel 'restaurant'. Staff were unable to assist with local directions, suggest any suitable places to eat or have any local map. Ramada is better by far across the road, this was frankly terrible for the money.

Good Hotel for price, neighbourhood & facilites

Posted Jul 20, 2016 on Hotels
Very good hotel, value for the money. Breakfast descent, free WiFi is reasonable. Staff could understand enough English to manage basic needs. Metro stations available about 15 minutes of walk. They arranged taxis when there is need. Strong room available after check out. They were strict on check out time of 12 noon, no extensions even for an hour! No refrigerator, iron box, bath tub, in the room. Cheap and reasonable restaurant adjacent to the hotel which has English menu. Night street food outlet starting by 9 pm goes all the way till early morning hours.

The hotel is reasonably close to the metro (about a 15min walk). The breakfast is OK, a good selection of Chinese and Western dishes. I'd love if they had yogurt and fruit, all else was good. The rooms are spacious, modern, and nice. The hotel also has a great laundromat. One of the things to watch out for is that the hotel staff barely speaks English.

What you'd expect

Aside from the strange location this is a solid Holiday Inn Express in Shanghai.
