The hotel is reasonably close to the metro (about a 15min walk). The breakfast is OK, a good selection of Chinese and Western dishes. I'd love if they had yogurt and fruit, all else was good. The rooms are spacious, modern, and nice. The hotel also has a great laundromat. One of the things to watch out for is that the hotel staff barely speaks English.

What you'd expect

Aside from the strange location this is a solid Holiday Inn Express in Shanghai.

Don't waste your money

Don't book this hotel unless you speak Chinese. They don't give a sh_t whatever country or part of the world you are from. They don't speak English at all. You get annoyed.

Nice place for the bucks

Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: Very good location. Shopping is nearby. Lots of restraunts (Chinese), good ones.
A clean and comfortable place to stay for budget travelers. Room is nice with no smells. Breakfast is very good. Two issues: The hotel needs to remind people not to smoke inside the hotel. It is a 15-min walk to the subway so if you have luggage, better get a taxi. It's convenient to get a taxi just outside.

nice and convenient

Posted Jan 6, 2014
Stayed in the hotel 10+ days during 2013 Christmas time, very good experience, nice staff (always willing to satisfy our specific requests), large enough room and bathroom, breakfast is so so (felt great the 1st day, then with everyday repetitions, a little sick of it). Overall, it's very nice hotel. I will choose to stay there on my next visit.

Good room, bad location.

Posted Jul 10, 2013
Pros: The room is nice.
Cons: Location.
It's a nice place. The room is clean and the staff is friendly. The only problem is the location. This hotel is located just in the middle of two subway stations, which makes it a little inconvenient.

Nice stay at this hotel

Posted Jun 4, 2013
Overall a very nice hotel located in a residential area, many colleges near by, nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. The hallway is a little bit of musky because of the high humidity in Shanghai, and the chain smokers who smoke anywhere, including the hotel elevator. Front desk staff were very friendly, decent breakfast included the rate. Only drawback of this hotel: it is located a good 15 minute walk from either Wu Jiao chang or Guo Shun Lu subway stations. Many dinning options at Wu Jiao Chang subway station, a short 10 minutes walk along Huang Xing Road. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.
