Highly recommend
Hotel was great, room and bed very comfortable, staff very helpful, sumptuous breakfast spread and felt like home. Only negative was the wifi - very slow and sometimes not connecting. Will stay there again if I travel to Shanghai.

Very comfortable and very clean place and nice breakfast! All staff are speaking english! Only dhuttle bus service always wait long time.. but all sre nice and pleasant sorroundings. Room very clean and lobby more comfortable and good smell!

Average. Good for Disney visitors
Had to change rooms because the first was smelling like it hadn’t been used for months, not fresh. The second one was ok but different from that I had booked and paid for online. Restaurant was under remodeling and breakfast was served in a temporary facility, food was cold. Sauna was not hot enough, jacuzzi was out of service. He hotel has a nice environment, but is from everything, suttle bus serves well those going to Disney, and the nearest metro station is 20 minutes walking.

Sparkling decor but dulled service
The facilities themselves are great. Comfortable bedding, modern decorations, good buffet, strong internet, and very comfortable lobby. Unfortunately, check-in took a really long time, the front desk staff have limited English skills and forget about room service (that took almost 2 hours and a trip to the lobby to see the manager). The area is convenient for shopping and sightseeing and there is a shuttle bus available. In the room, you had typical amenities like shower gel, shampoo, slippers, razor kit, etc... even some fruit... but I went down to the buffet for dinner and ended up back in my room - no real Western-style dishes. Seems like the hotel is a fancy "local" hotel as opposed to an international hotel.

Clean, quiet hotel with a great view of downtown S
We enjoyed our stay in the Shanghai hotel. It was clean with a great view. Plenty of restaurants close by. We wanted to try the Dim sum buffet at the hotel our last day but it was closed for a private party. If we would of known earlier we could of tried it another time. Overall it was a great place to stay.

We arrived very late in the evening, but the staff was still friendly and alert. They offered us an upgrade free of charge, and it was the most wonderful stay of my life time. The absolute nicest bed/hotel room I've enjoyed in all of Asia.

The non-smoking room smelled of smoke!
When I reported the smoke in the non-smoking room, the hotel service person commented that the smoke smell was not that strong. It seems that there is a culture of tolerance to not follow through with the hotel standards.

Great food nice rooms
Bring your own coffee as they only give you one package a day. Roomso and bathrooms were very nice. And many fine restaurants are within walking distance.

Three strikes and you're out
Strike 1 - It took 3 trips from the check-in desk to my 12th floor room, with luggage both ways, to get a key card that would open the door. Once inside the room the temperature was 80 degrees F ( it’s cold outside). I called the main desk who said just wait for the A/C to cool down the room. After an hour I called back for repair service. The service man determined the air was blowing 80 (26 degrees C) and advised the main desk person, who told be to just wait for the A/C to cool down the room. I told her that 80 degree air will never cool down the room so change my room immediately. They called back with a satisfactory room change. Strike 2 - About that awesome pool – Pool and fitness center open at 6AM, but were locked up and dark on this day. I called the main desk who said please wait and they would call when they open. I got the call at 6:30 and proceeded to the gym then to the pool, which was empty, as in no water. They said it will open next week. Strike 3 - The room service menu is pretty limited. I ordered pizza, but was told they were out, so I hung up in a huff, vowing to never stay here again. They called back and said the chef found some pepperoni so we were back on. Previously I have been disappointed with how cold the restaurant is in the winter, so wear a coat or heavy sweater. Just to be fair most Chinese hotel restaurants are cold too. Cold plates are usual here. I would say more but I have reached the character limit for this entry.

It was great everything is clean and tidy, except that the night when i checked in the staff attitude was very bad. Also the staff calling for taxi, they will ask you to walk out to the main and get your own taxi road if your destination is nearby. Again, rude staffs!

An ok stay but some distance from the sirport
The hotel was much further from the airport than we anticipated and did not have a courtesy bus. If you stay here expect a £20 taxi journey to the airport which gives an indication of how far away it is, given the cost of taxis in Shanghai. Other than that the hotel was clean and tidy and the breakfast was good. Of note however is that apart from the Executive Lounge, the hotel doesn't otherwise have a bar.

It was for 3 nights, room very spacious and well cleaned with the necessary amenities things that i didn't expect to have. Very confortable bed and pillows. The negative points i would say: * I booked for a king size bed, and had a single bed * Requested for top sheet, but didn't got it * Welcoming desk too slow, we checked in very late & out very early and we waste precious minutes at the desk

Convenient to Pudong Airport
The hotel location is one of the main reasons I prefer to stay there. You are about 20 miles from PVG and the hotel is very convenient to the major rings in Shanghai. The buffet on the ground floor is standard, nothing exceptional. The rooms are small but nice. They don't have HBO which bugged me abit. Their workout facilities are very nice, next time I will try their pool. I will try the club level next time as well.

Hotel closer to work..
This hotel is situated far away from my work. I intend to book the Holiday Inn at Pudong but ended up with Pudong kangqiao. Daily travel to work and back from work is a challenge as many taxi around the hotel do not go to Town.

The hotel room was clean and the lobby had free wireless Internet access. The third floor Chinese restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The in-room TV had English (ESPN!) and Mandarin channels. The ground floor restaurant featured both Asian and Western breakfast and dinner, buffet style, and it's quite a bit more expensive. There were a lot of business people in the hotel during our stay, and the breakfast buffet was crowded and ran out of food. I was somewhat disturbed by the staff just removing the dirty dishes from the tables and not wiping anything down before they placed another table setting. There were only a few restaurants within walking distance. It's about 40 RMB to take a taxi to the nearest subway station. Getting a taxi from the subway station back to a hotel is more of a hassle, as the location of the hotel was not well known.

Very comfortable Holiday Inn between Pudong Airport and downtown Shanghai. Beds were very comfortable, room was large, breakfast buffet was great with Western and Chinese foods. Staff was attentive and spoke English well. Wi-fi was fast. The Cantilever Pool with the glass bottom on the 24th floor is an experience. It has a swim up bar but the bar was not open when I was there. I must note, the picture on this site is not accurate of the glass bottom. The glass parts are 6 squares about 1 meter/ 1 yard, not the large rectangles shown. However, still worth it. If you arrive into Pudong airport late, take the short ride to this hotel, sleep comfortably for a night, then go swimming the next morning for some excitement, then journey into downtown.

I stayed there for two nights, the hotel is evert thing one would expect a Holiday Inn to be. Well designed with nice room and bathroom, VERY CLEAN! The staff was helpful and also instantly agreed to an extended checkout time of 3 pm which normally a lot of hotels dont agree to without a long 5 min discussion on hotel policy etc. Having said that, the hotel is a bit far from the heart of the city hence if you have work around the location then stay there as otherwise a trip to say for Eg. the Bund will cost about 80 to 90 RMB one way. It happened to be my birthday on one of the days of my stay, the hotel manager was kind enough to leave a delicious Velvet Cheese Cake along with a note in the room wishing me which I thought was a very nice gesture.

Not Shanghai's greatest experience
You expect certain standards from a Holiday Inn franchise and at first sight this hotel looks like every other one in the Group. It is modern, clean and has a good check-in and reception area. The problem is in the room - lights were faulty, the bathroom door was stuck open, the airconditioning was set at a default of 27 degrees and could not be adjusted. It was a dreadful night's experience. The restaurant has the feel of a place where people are just eating for fuel, they have nothing to inspire them in there. The selection was awful and the staff disinterested. Don't be misled into thinking that this is an 'airport hotel'. It is a 30 minute (140RMB ) taxi ride in light traffic from Pudong Airport. If you are looking for a convenient airport stop-over try the Ramada to be really on the doorstep, or book somewhere central to have somewhere alternative to eat and stroll around and accept the longer transfer time in the morning.

Excellent Hotel!
I only stayed here for one night so I suppose my review will not be applicable to those who stay there for longer durations. Regardless, I was very pleased with my overall experience during my stay. All of the staff with whom I dealt with had no problem communicating in English. I only have one complaint. The hotel had charged me a deposit fee on my credit card which I was unaware (I don't usually stay in hotels so I didn't know this is a practice) off so I decided to call them to figure out what was going on. A woman had picked up my call. After asking her what the fee was about she simply said "Deposit fee, will cancel it in one week" and hung up the phone. I guess she did answer my question but her tone was very bitter and she came off a bit rude. Don't let this sway you away from spending any night here. Besides this incident every other staff member I interacted with was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Staff was extremely helpful and courteous, facilities were elegant and immaculate. No problems finding English speakers among the staff. Shops and restaurants nearby. My only quibble- the ad for the hotel said airport transport available, which is technically true. Taxis. The day I was there, the hotel shuttle was available only at 9:30 a.m., and it took you to the interurban station. Probably my own misinterpretation, but I thought there would be an airport shuttle. Still, a very nice hotel, and an excellent stay.
